It’s typical ITV isn’t it, something works on BBC and they go and copy it, I guess that the commercial free market for you!
Does look good though and like LoD and the Bodyguard I’m expecting some water-cooler discussion-inducing cliff hangers. Except they’ll all have to be done by Zoom at a virtual water cooler.

"I’ve never heard of it. Sounds good though. Will it work as a stand alone, or would I have needed to watch the first series?"
This is the first series. |

Aww brill, thanks Cheese. When the OP said the new series, I assumed there had been a previous one |

It will be on our tv but not tonight so no spoilers please, certainly looking forward to it, just hope it’s not got a dumb ass ending like seems to be happening with most dramas lately |

"What's Trigger Point? I reckon ITV should have promoted it more."
It's based on those 2p games in amusement arcades. Ben Shepherd presents it. I mean it's OK but not worth all this fuss. |

Did you like The Tourist? I thought it was over long and got fed up with it towards the end. T "
I loved it but they could easily have edited out a whole episode |

It's a bit by the numbers so far. For anyone that can't get to watch it here's a summary.
Vicky McClure. Top knot. Bird's eye shot of London. Police 4 X 4s rolling through a tunnel. Yes Sarge. IED. Snips. Grit. Banter. Yes Sarge. More grit. Get out. More banter. Energy drink. Nodding dog. Even more banter. Broken robot. Yes Sarge. Walkie talkies. Yes Sarge. Crap boss. Yes Sarge. |

Well that was … disappointing.
That ending was telegraphed right from the outset.
Hopefully it’ll improve but going forwards I won’t watch live, too many adverts breaking the action. |

What an ending to a great first episode. Vicky McClure is brilliant in it but then I didn't expect anything less from her. Can't wait until the next episode x |

Spoiler alert.
Highly trained bomb squad officers in with a live bomb. It’s dark, let’s switch light on WTF
We’re just checking plates on last vehicle but we’ll let all the public in anyway and let them walk right next to said vehicle WTF2
I think they need to go on a refresher course |

Absolutely - not authentic and running the same formulaic situations as seen in Bodyguard - try watching The Responder instead for some genuinely great acting of really believeable situations - Martin Freeman is so good !! |

2nd that, we've binge watched all 5 episodes of The Responder and it was fantastic viewing! Completely different take on a cop drama and Martin Freeman was brilliant in the lead role |

"Almost time
Who else is watching it tonight? "
I was, got interrupted by cats fighting outside my front door so missed a chunk, so decided to have a bath and catch up after.

It's awful, they seem to be fighting over my cat. Think he might have something to tell us |

No way in a million years would that tiny little robot on piddly tracks push that van out the way, and once it had done, and they’d found the factory, why didn’t someone think maybe they should check the van out. Bloody thing was just left there.
Sorry, I’m being picky. I’m watching it and it’s ok but seen much better programmes. |

Agree
Who is the gunman / bomb maker - might the pool player be in league with the colleague with the A-Z?
Or is that too simple? Roll on next week |

"I'm enjoying it and it's getting better with each episode x"
I am too and it is, but each episode has a total farsical moment.
Tonight as they’re speeding down the motorway at breakneck speed in the disco with the blues and twos going, they’re only in the middle lane and they’re being overtaken by two or three cars going way faster. WTF |

I swear I’d let them go bang
Oh yes indeed .. I get you are panicking But STFU and keep still or we will all blow . "
Nobody shouts as loud as she does. Surprised she wasn't blown up in episode 1. |

"How can he afford that flat in London on a coppers salary? I know he's a DCI or DSupt, but that's got to be easily £3 million worth of pad. He's a plant."
Who? Have I missed one?! Was it the one with her brother last week? |

No her boyfriend....Tom I think he's called. When he asked her to move in, he had massive floor to ceiling windows, and a view to due for over the city. Mind you, she's into the mechanic now, who's not up his own arse. |

I'm no expert, but I don't think a black market in Christmas puddings could get you a lavish penthouse flat |

"I find it rather boring , watching cos ole man does but not as good as line of duty which I love . "
Tend to agree, it’s a pale shadow of LoD and really hasn’t, in my humble opinion anyway, lived up to anywhere near the hype.
Every ‘twist’ and cliffhanger so far has been obvious, and at times the storytelling has been slow and laborious. But no doubt I’ll see it through and add to the viewing figures now that I’ve invested in it this far. So the hype did it’s job I guess |
