When you're watching every hour of the night pass knowing that you have work to go to next day and it never fails as soon as that alarm goes off you have just started nodding off

"If you go asleep every night the insomnia goes away "

But how do you go to sleep if your brain won’t switch off?

Have you got sufficient magnesium and vitamin D?

They can both affect sleep.

Also, L-tryptophan and 5-htp can help, but check with your doc if you’re concerned.

You can use an app for white noise/meditation if that helps.

Valerian, skullcap and chamomile can help when made into a tea (you can buy the dried herbs from Neals Yard).

Good sleep hygiene, including bedroom only for sleeping (i.e. no tv)

Don’t pick up your phone if you wake, you’re training yourself to wake up.

Phone down at least an hour before bed.

Runcorn

Yes me to, be lucky to get 4 or 5 hours a night. Tried herbal tablets, hit or miss sometimes to be honest. I overthink things in my mind, that's a killer to.

Runcorn

Used L-Tryptophan in a power form from Bulk powders but very intesnse nightmares. Even took Zoplicone but felt rough in the morning.

You are right about the bedroom, no tv, my phone stays in the drawer by the bed.

Starting a mediation course next week, so hopefully in will do something postive.

I’ve been on vit D for most of last year but had no trouble sleeping. Don’t know about magnesium.

Hope to sleep better tonight as shattered.

You could get some Epsom salts? Have a nice bath with them in(a good measure, not a measly mugs worth, and some lavender oil, just before bed. You will detox and absorb magnesium.

Hope you get some sleep tonight.

Try a yin yoga before bed. There's lots of them for free on YouTube. I always sleep really soundly after practising yin.

I don’t have a bath, but I slept from 10.30 pm to 9.15am

Body doesn’t need help to detox, my liver & kidneys work just fine

Definitely. I'm yawning away in front of the TV but as soon as I put my head on the pillow I'm wide awake. I never used to be like that x
