"I kinda like Boris......in a kinda naughty schoolboy kinda way- perfect for a leader of a political party me thinks. "
He really is going to win people over playing the affable buffoon. A very clever ploy. All the more so as he appears to keep it up 24 hours a day. I can't quite trust him but he has charmed me more than once. |

a very very clever man with an awesome public persona . You don't get to his position being a buffoon but he plays it so well. You've got to like him. Maybe prime minister soon? That would be interesting, but i can't help thinking he may be quite good at it. |

Until the Letterman show Bojo was better known abroad than Cameron. |

probably why Cameron did the show.
I like BOJO, intelligent, charismatic and a 'can do' attitude. |

"I love the way the news is reporting his speech as 'protesting his loyalty'.
Another packed house for BoJo."
Yup, more personable than Cameron, and not a socialist bone in his body. He has my vote |

"No, I like him but on the world stage, not a great representative"
The world seems to love him. It may be because they now think of the UK as a theme park but he is widely courted by the rest of the world.
I think his bluff, bluster and general buffoonery mean that people don't see how hard line he really is. In lots of ways I think he is more the heir to Thatcher than any of the current lot. |

I can't stand Boris Johnson for loads of reasons, however, if he were to become an MP and then leader of The Tories, at least we could be certain he'd never be PM as most of the country would never vote for him.
For some wierd reason, Londoners love him, but that is where Bojo The Clown's mass popularity ends |

agree his hardline but I think back to Gordon Brown replacing Blair and how silly he looked at times alongside the other leaders, it is about more than looks but buffoonery will be endearing for so long, then backfire me thinks |

I think you are underestimating the simple fact that he is known as the bloke from the telly to many beyond London. His initial win as Mayor had an awful lot to do with young people voting for the first time and recognising him from Have I Got News For You. |

"although you just answered why he shouldn't"
I don't think he should. I have said he has charmed me but that is confined to those schmoozing situations where it is certainly more fun than poking sticks in my eyes. Leading the country... I might prefer to be poking sticks all over the place. |

That might have been true for him getting to be Mayor of London, but speaking as a Northerner he comes across completely wrongly to many people I know up here, young and old.
To become PM, he'd have to carry a sizeable chunk of the country and frankly he just looks and behaves like a fool.
He may have good policies for London, I truely don't know and don't care if I'm honest but everytime he comes on the telly defending the financial institutions saying how important they are to the UK, he simply gets on my nerves when a more accurate portrayal would be that the financial institutions bankrupted the country and they continue to refuse to change despite the ongoing corruption within them and legacy debt which the country is trying to get out of by industrial growth etc. |

I agree he would have to carry a majority of the country but he's got to get a safe seat as an MP and oust Cameron first. If that happens don't underestimate his ability to win over the rest of the country. |

YES YES YES

NO NO NO
Boris the self publicist is playing a blinder..he is fishing for votes getting people on his side by 'playing' the buffoon. He talked himself into a Gaff yesterday just because people like to see him do it and then get out of it again.
He will run for leader and PM and everybody will vote for him because they like the buffoonery and none of them will know what his policies are......
I hope i'm wrong......
