I’ve done it and loved it! 70 seconds free fall from 15,000 feet. I recommend doing it, at least once, if you’re curious! X

I've been flying on and off for @45years and I'm not good with heights, weird eh? Strap me into an aircraft or a parachute and I'm fine. I've happily dangled out of helicopters on a strap, but I get giddy on a tall ladder. I think it's the feeling of security that being attached to whatever flying device gives me.

It is a feeling like no other …. Phenomenal …. And obviously things can go wrong …but so can crossing the street or going swimming .. or choking on your fave boiled sweet… we all (most) get in our cars every day without thinking about the possibility of what can go wrong …

But I raised an awful lot of cash for a charity that’s close to my heart. So it was worth it for that!

I always thought I would, but then I watched my mum do a tandem charity jump, and was left saying “nope, absolutely not!” I was terrified for her, and decided that my nerves wouldn’t handle me trying one too. I’ll send my mum back up, haha x

Something I wanted to do when I was in my teens, did the initial training on the day, weather called the event off, then I reorganised and got to 3,500ft and was told the wind had picked up since take-off and they had to return to ground. Third attempt, the day was overcast until late afternoon and only a few left the airfield that day, myself not included. If you try three times, I thought, maybe something somewhere is telling me it is a bad idea! This was all before my 20th birthday, so over half my life ago. Not something I'd make an effort to do now, but if someone gave me a voucher tomorrow, it'd be spent the next fine weekend.

The adrenaline is awesome. The scenery is awesome. You can't stop smiling once you've jumped.

I was once well up for the idea of a parachute jump. I’ve done bungee and bridge jumps and was all set to do a skydive, but my mate did a charity jump and hurt himself badly, and that pretty much put me off.

Much though I hate to think I’m “past it”, I do think that some stuff needs to be done when you’re young enough to recover more easily from a mishap. At 52 I think I’ll stick to my motorcycles for the adrenaline rush.

I very nearly did one about 20 years ago. It would have been for charity...the sponsorship was there, just needed a group of 20 do it.

Unfortunately, about 11 of the 20 (not me, I might add) chickened out. The charity still got their cut of the money but the drop didn't go ahead as the parachute regiment wouldn't have got paid for actually flying us up, training us (for 2 hours), having ambulances/'elf and safety on standby etc.

Would I do it now? Fuck no...I'm the wrong side of 40. I stopped going on white-knuckle roller-coasters about 5 years ago because I'm getting too brittle...

Did a tandem one 20+ years ago in Queensland from 10000 feet so roughly 30 seconds of freefalling. Biggest rush I’ve ever had. The only my time in life I was fully aware that I had zero control of my life (not counting being under an anaesthetic as I was t aware!)

The whole point of a perfectly-serviceable and operational air-worthy aircraft is to prevent the need for folks to bail out. That's for emergencies only, not shits and giggles.

I did a tandem jump for my 40th birthday in 2020 and was hooked! I got my A licence last year and can’t wait for the good weather to come again. I jump from Wallingford and on a clear day you can see the iconic buildings in the city of London it’s awesome

I did a jump in vegas 15000f with instructor strapped to me.

Easiest way to discribe it is the most extreme feeling you could ever have it was unbelievably awesome.

I am terrified of high edges to the point of even asking for as low a floor as I can get when booking in a hotel.

The most fun bit was the forfeit we had as a group of us was doing the jump and we all jumped.

Although those who've done one often want to go again..

was booked in to do one in 1978 but got mullered under a car the week before,

never got around to sorting it out, not possible now with my health issues.

I’ve done about 1,400 jumps (fourteen hundred) plus several military ones. A kick in the butt. Even my three malfunctions were awesome. I’ve done night jumps, jumped with 100+ jumpers out of six airplanes, from balloons, Boeing 727, helicopters, bi-planes and lots of other types.

Not for everyone, but if you’ve ever wanted to do it, DO IT!

I did a tandem jump a few years back. The wires were tangled, so the instructor was spinning us round to try to open the parachute properly .

I did a couple in my younger years. Aged 18 or so.

Using the round parachutes from a static line. The floating down was great, but the landing was like a bag of shit.

What's the highest commercial tandem jump anyone (in the uk) is aware you can do? I've found 15,000 feet with 60 seconds tandem free fall. Is there any higher as I'm only likely to do this the once?

Yes yes yes. Did 5 jumps over a weekend in Australia taking off from an international airport and landing on a beach. My instructor was the chap that had Joey Essex when he jumped out for I'm a celebrity get me out of here. Absolutely sensational and the feeling of falling isn't really there as there's nothing close to you to make you realise how fast you're falling
