Those of you who will be travelling through the main line railway station of Harrow & Whealdstone may like to remember the 112 people who lost their lives 60 years ago on the 8th October 1952 when three trains collided. One train ran into the rear of another and a third ran into the wreckage. Thankfully the only serious railway crash that had anything like the same amount of fatalities have been the one at Clapham juction in the early 1990`s. Just goes to show the improvements that have been made and how safe our railways are today. |
