One thing you need to be aware off.
Unless things have changed recently Lexmark only supply tester print artridges with a new machine. And they are really tight about it too!
This means you will very, very quickly have to buy new ink, which can be very expensive.
the printer itself looks pretty good but make sure you know how much new ink will cost.
TBH even the most basic printers do a pretty good jod these days - only pay for the bells and whistles if you really want them in my opinion.
hope that helps a bit |

Yes, lexmark is expensive for your new inks.
As it has been said, basic printers do a good job now, I have an HP all in one, which is pretty good and the ink is half the price of the Lexmark. |

Hi Karen,
I tried your link but couldn't find the printer.
I bought a new printer for my OU stuff too!" I would stay away from Lexmark, esp X2650, ink cartridges are like hen's teeth and they run out really quickly! ( not enough to write an essay, lol!)
Hope this helps.

I have an Epson Stylus DX 4800.
It came from argos 4 yrs ago and cost just over £70, they still stock them and are alot cheaper now.
It has a printer/scanner/copier,memory card compatibility slot ect ect.
If you buy Epson Ink its £26 a pack, I buy same Ink different name from argos for £11.99.
Hope this helps Karen. X |

Definately agree on the DX4800 - they are a great printer and as already said there is 'non Epson' ink available which works really well.
The only time that you may run into problems using non Epson ink is if you are printing photos, sometimes the colours can be a bit flat and in time the pigmentation seems to change and the photos can look completely different to when they were 1st printed.
Otherwise - Ok ! |

I have a HP photo printer which is excellent - had it for about 4 years and no problems. It will print on normal paper as well as photos and the ink for it lasts ages (about £30 for black/white or colour each). I would recommend it to anyone - think it cost around £40 when I bought it. |

Never used these outfits before Kitty but if you Google "epson dx4050 ink cartridges" there are feckin loads of places, here are the first couple I looked at

http://www.inkredible.co.uk/Default.aspx?View=Offers&OffersView=OffersListView&CategoryID=2389&RefererID=1&gclid=CMekwYPdmJkCFQiF3godTTV9Zg
Not sure what you usually pay but they do seem pretty reasonable, hope this helps |

Karen if you want one that has everything, including wifi and fax, then these are pretty good and very cheap for ink.
