Finished 21 minutes over a hilly trail parkrun. -2 degrees according to Strava
I'm a way off the 19 minutes I was doing last summer before injury and covid.
But at least it's coming back. |

Best of luck next week. I've got my first official race of the year so watch this space..... |

Indeed most places looked a bit nippy.
I have a 5 mile race this Sunday so not sure if I'm able to trust myself to do a jolly parkrun the day before. I tend to errrr, get carried away. |

I've not been able to run for weeks due to a bursa on my Achilles, but the physio seems to be making it better now, so hopefully I'll be back out running again soon. Well done to everyone else making the effort, and always remember; it doesn't matter what time you do, you'll always be faster than the sofa |

Well done
I went faster than last week. Kept a more steady pace but a minute off my PB for the same course.
Have an official 5 mile race tomorrow so didn't feel like I should blast it today. 20 minutes and some change. Waiting on the official results. But 4th over the hilly trail route.
Anyone else?

Hey, getting out and doing it is impressive enough. Plus a sub 30 5k...

I am on my 11th continues parkrun since November (missed Xmas day but as that is a special day and my local run wasn’t open)
I had done a few before lockdown and a few after. My times and fitness have been improving. I have got a niggle (not back related) so not running as fast as I would like and now I can run 3km not stop with walking for 0.5km.
This is after nearly a year of back injuries.
I love parkrun !!! |

Yes, go! The hardest part is setting off out of the house. If you walk it, that’s fine! Next week do a little bit of light jogging and so on building up week after week! If you want. Or just walk every week, that’s fine too. But I bet you’ll be glad you did it afterwards! Good luck!! |

Back from mine. Had a plan to just blast it and try to hold on.
Slight issue is that a former commonwealth runner turned up and decided to run with me. We lead for a mile then I went off the cliff Thelma and Louise style. He did not lol.
Mental note. Don't try to match a professional runner
Fastest one in over a month though.

Happy enough with mine after a busy week and a few nights poor sleep. Ahead of where i expected to be so soon after injury so hoping to keep that trajectory going particularly as I always lose speed rather than endurance when I'm injured!

5km pb = 16 mins
Can’t even do 2km now "
Ever thought of trying it by wheelchair, if you can't run? Shoulder power is pretty decent on flat Parkruns. I can do it in a flat 30mins and when I'm able to go back out again, have designs on sub 25 in my new lighter chair. |

Crikey there's some amazing people here.
John- sensible move. Just see what happens tomorrow. Better to just jog and heal than push for anything.
Kinky Couple - That sucks. Facebook them?
Dan - 27 minutes is 10 minutes faster than my first parkrun 3 years ago. Plenty of people will be jealous of a sub 30
Mr Ben - same, was doing constantly 19-20 till covid in April. Finally got a flat road run last month at 18.35 PB. My park run is hilly trail so hope to get back to it. Keep chipping away. Focus on that heart rate. Wrestle it down. ( Google heart rate running tips. Belly breathing helped me)
Lunchbox - need a strong arm emoji. Keep it up. 21 expected
EVC- make it part of the long run? I know Tri club here do. Fast buggers.
Pob - you are amazing sir. I dream of ironman next year... Swansea. Taught myself to swim this year for Triathlon. Only breast stroke though. 2k to build from. You will when you want to. If Knee injury plays ball. I think as told I wouldn't run again in 2005 after knee surgery. So I didn't for 14 years. I was fat 3 years ago. 19.5 stone. Now 3 years graft amateur not knowing what I'm doing and I have won championships.
Good luck all.

Just back and had my shake.
20.21 today on my 50th parkrun. There was a cape I had to wear so obviously that added a minute to my time right?
Now to rest up for my 10k race tomorrow morning.
Hope you all got on ok. |

Second fastest of the year today despite dying on my arse in the last mile. If I'd have held my pace from the 1st half I'd have managed an all time PB. But more than happy to finish in the first 75 our of 450 runner (1 of my goals is always to aim for the first 25% which I smashed).
I'm super happy with that, a few days rest seems to have done me good! |

I went ParkPushing in my new wheelchair this morning. I've not been for nearly 2 months, managed 33mins (PB is 30). I need to fiddle with the suspension on the new chair and optimise for my stupidly strong downward strokes on the wheel |

Was working a triathlon this morning so no parkrun today. It was a 7.30 start and a few if the fast guys managed to do a nearby parkrun as well as there race!
Slight tangent but had the misfortune of meeting 2012 Olympians Stuart Hayes and Michelle Dillon, what a pair of egotistical, self absorbed arseholes they turned out to be!
Big Half tomorrow so possibly not a bad thing I was not at parkrun but suspect the 3.30 alarm means I'm more tired than if I'd ran! |

Parkrun on Twitter say they've no plans to cancel tomorrow's runs after the passing of the Queen. It's down to the individual Parkrun organiser's and the land owners. So have a check before going |

Will hope to run tomorrow but we shall see.
M started a 100 mile September running challenge for help for heroes. Typically and very frustratingly now is when he starts getting a sharp burning pain in his knee that's made it difficult to even walk. 2 days of rest so far and we shall see how it holds up. To say he is not a happy bunny would be an understatement! |

I wanted to run hard and push my heart rate up. But it shot up to 180 and my pace didn't match.
Maybe I'm dehydrated, getting a cold or still recovering from last weekend. |

I managed just under 27 minutes which is about 1m20s slower than usual. But better than expected with a dodgy knee still.
C on the other hand blew her pb out of the water with a 34m 39s personal best that was nearly 2 minutes quicker than her last. |

Reflective parkrun for me today. A friend died in the summer and it would have been her birthday today, the parkrun where she was part of the core team celebrated her birthday, we wore pink and were encouraged by the RD to sing our way around the course,it was lovely
I've been ill with a chest infection for the last 10 days so took it steady, couple of minutes away from my course PB but just made it in the first third of finishers so I'm happy with that |

So we are both running the run Norwich 10k this Sunday, so no actual park run Saturday.

Soaked through. Despite both calves cramping 4k in and having to do the rest in discomfort due to that. I managed to finish in 58m 01s. I will take that considering the cramp and torrential rain. |

Laughably the Mrs got a ballot place in the London Marathon Yesterday (I didn't). So now it seems we are booked to run The Chelmsford half marathon in March as part of her build up training. Meanwhile I'm scrambling about for a charity place the the marathon.
Norwich 10k was only supposed to be for a laugh and a challenge. Seems to have escalated pretty quickly |

Phab Kids always have a lot of spaces and a relatively low fundraising target and they really look after their runners
I didn't get a spot but have already signed up for Manchester so not too disappointed. London will get an amazing run for you both though
If you are building up from 10km to marathon try and find a race over Christmas to keep you focussed in the short term and before building up on the new year.
Good luck! |

Where are we all running this weekend then?
I always wonder to myself when running whether anyone else on fab is running alongside me.
It’s cross country weekend in the north east this weekend, so all the parkruns tend to be a lot quieter and it makes you feel better getting a higher finishing position |
