Is there anything people can still do with these apart from use them for kindling? Just wondering before I chuck the lot away... It's quite sad that all my pocket money and Saturday job money used to go into these

"Try music magpie or something similar "

How much do you get, like 10p a cd? Is it worth the time spent listing them?

Pretty much worthless.

I have hundred’s and hundred’s that I just can’t bare to throw.

Last time I looked through them I came out of it with a fucking wicked iTunes playlist though

Give them to a charity shop. You never know, they might make someone’s day finding them, and it’s all for charity too

Well, it’s better than chucking them. Even if the lot sell for £1 to charity

Outside of that though, they are recyclable so don’t just bin them.

Near Wells

I still have single records and 12" albums that have probably seen a dozen house moves since I moved from home a very long time ago.

I couldn't bear to throw them away.

Me too.

Vinyls a completely different kettle of fish though and some of my 90’s white labels are worth good money.

I’m taking them to the grave with me though.

Never sell them.

There’s something so fucking good about listening to vinyl that you just can’t explain to this generation!

Give them to a charity shop rather than bin them.

If I knew what you had I might take some off your hands myself. Luke

Box them up, and stick them up the attic, or on top of a wardrobe. You're only 27, you might find that when you get to my age, they may be sought after by collectors. I've even got 78rpm discs here that were bought for pennies to play on a 1920s wind up gramaphone which I bought as a bit of novelty when I was your age. It's all been a very wise investment. Your cd's could turn out the same, and you end up wishing you'd hung on to them.

Clean them really shiny, and stick them down overlapping each other slightly onto a mirror or something else, and make a fancy mirror out of them and stick it on your ceiling or somewhere, so you can watch yourself and your naughty activities An even if your bored, during lol, knowing that they are your oldest favourite memories you're looking at lol it might even help make a bad night into a good night lol x x

Missin’ Yo’ Kissin’

Spray cd's with acrylic spray (golden is one brand - there are others), both sides.

Get a small shot glass or bottle top to cover up the cd hole & do a "dirty acrylic pour" with different coloured acrylic paint. Look at YouTube!

You could make a mobile for the garden or beer matts for the home.

"I still collect cd's. Online music is just not the same."

I agree. The thing with streaming is that you don't actually own anything. As soon as you stop your subscription, you have nothing. If you were to compare subscription costs against purchase costs, I bet the break-even point is a lot sooner that most people think.

If you've turned them into MP3s then that's a different matter. I have done that with mine but I still keep the CDs for other reasons.

There are some total bargains to be had on CDs at charity shops. That's been a great way for me to own music that's not dependent on a subscription.

See if your local school want them, our school uses them in art/D&T and science projects.
