A really underrated guitar solo is Funkadelic's - "Maggot Brain." I'm hooked on it at the moment! No one ever talks about it though? Don't know why?
Randy Rhodes - "Dee"; solo from "Crazy Train" - off "Blizzard of Oz."
Tesla - Guitar solos - "Modern Day Cowboy" & "E Z Come E Z Go"- off "Mechanical Resonance."
Dokken - George Lynch - solo from "In My dreams" & "Unchain The Night." Very Eddie Van Halen - off "Under Lock & Key" |

Short solo, but..
Muse, Guiding Light. (Matt Bellamy even surprises himself in the studio vid on YT)
David Gilmour solo in Pink Floyd's The Fletcher Memorial Home. (that crunch after the first few seconds gives me goosebumps)
David Gilmour, The Blue. (Amazing use of a Digitech Whammy, the guitar equivalent of whale song.) |

"What’s your favourite
Me
UFO Rock Bottom
Alter Bridge Blackbird
Rush La Villa Strangiato "
My favourite guitar solo would have to be the one from Lionel Richie's Hello... not flash, just perfect.

"Anything by Jimi Hendrix
Never been a jimmy fan I like few bits but not much"
I agree. Many of the things that Hendrix used in his playing were experimental and ground-breaking. For me personally though, I've never found his soloing the most musical and he did tend to go on a bit.
