Good evening Ash and nocturnal crew. It's been a ridiculously busy day and made all the more challenging by having to WFH and do home education of a Reception age child. Kudos to Mr KC for taking on most of it because I was completely inundated with work stuff. Managed to interview a dude on Teams without any embarrassing kid actions - winning!

Too knackered to go to basketball tonight and then my clicky pelvis/hips did a massive crunch and my bad leg is..... purple? I'm sure that's normal anyway

"On this day 1966 David Bowie released his first single, Can't Help Thinking About Me.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=m9upuHPKKJI Elvis was only once in the UK. He was flying home after his National service and he landed at Prestwick Airport in Scotland to change planes. His one and only time in Britain

Only one visit to the UK, incredible. Excellent facting, thank you. And, good eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevening. I don’t think he left the states much if at all other than for his national service in Germany I believe

He was Elvis, why would he. he had like 17 number 1 singles in the UK so it didn’t do his record sales much damage.

That many, that's outrageous. Do you like a bit of Elvis?"

I’ve never owned a record or CD by Elvis but I don’t mind his songs at parties etc

Another bit of trivia which I believe to be correct. They were in the process of a reconciliation and talked about getting remarried just before her death. Joe Di Maggio put a single red rose on her grave every day up until his death apparently. Sure that can be checked. I will have a look and if it’s nonsense I will put my hands up about posting misinformation

It was Joe DiMaggio that made all of the funeral arrangements.

yes and he barred all the Hollywood types and the Kennedys from the funeral. It was half a dozen red roses 3 times a week for 20 years.

loved to have seen them. My mate went to see them a few years ago at Finsbury Park. I did see PiL it was great even though we were in the mosh Pitt. He stormed off a bit early after someone threw a can of beer which hit one of the band.

I think it was more than a few years ago, 2007. But I could be wrong. I'll have to check out some PiL. I don't know why I haven't listened to them before.

think they only did a couple of albums before John Lydon went solo. I remember they sang Pretty Vacant possibly another 1 or 2 Pistols songs but can’t remember. It was 85/86 at a guess. He did a song called world destruction with Africa Bambata which I really liked. Not heard it in 30 years and is probably awful

Last year I saw some footage of John Lydon promoting a Pil record on some children's Saturday morning tv show. Live from Alton Towers, he's hating it. It's funny. And he spits out something like "buy my record".

Oh, I like John Lydon. By coincidence I listenined to an unbroadcasted BBC radio interview from 1978 last night. In which John Lydon called out Jimmy Saville.

I will listen to it while I’m working during the day. I remember a line something like “it’s a world destruction you life ain’t nothing the human race is becoming a disgrace” I don’t think Dylan or Bacharach we’re quaking in their boots at the Grammys for the songwriter of the year award

I seen a little of it when he was on Piers Morgan. He said he approached many people with his concerns but got totally shut down

My dad had those record cases. Thinking of them takes me back to the front room of the first house I lived in.
