iphone advice... don't buy one, if you have sell it! Sorry but I think the iphone is no better than any other smart phone and I do think there is a lot of hype about them.

I have gone back to bog standard phone that makes calls and sends texts... the battery lasts a full week between charges

Then why should we sell them if the others out there arent any better? So i sell my phone and have to buy another phone and put money towards that so i am out of pocket and dont have a better phone??

Yeah take a screen shot power and home button at the same time

Gosh... I was only commenting! In my opinion (not worth much I know) a bog standard simple phone IS better than an iphone. I use the lappy for everything other than calls and texts plus battery life is important to me... from my experience a smart phone (including iphones) battery lasts a day if you are lucky.

That's your opinion............ I'll keep mine as I think it's the best fone I've ever had, and I've had a lot of fones in my time

You should be able to use DiskAid (google it), its a program that lets you access the iPhone more directly than with iTunes

You have to pay for DiskAid to use the message transfer to PC feature (amongst other features).

You can use PhoneView to download messages as a PDF. Your phone does not need to be unlocked.

If that's too expensive, then screenshots would work well enough. Or just copy and paste the messages you need and email them to yourself.

Yes, the battery on a smartphone doesn't last as long, but the phone does so much more. I use my phone for all sorts of things besides phoning and texting, it's my pocket encyclopaedia, notebook, recipe book, photo gallery, camera, games machine and much more.

People who have iPhones tend to like them - they have the highest customer satisfaction rating of any smartphone. I don't think anyone is going to sell them on your recommendation. I'm certainly not.

SHOCKAROONEY!!!! you have to pay for an aid on the i phone, that comes free with all other smartphones, who would have thought.

hmmmmmmm i'm wondering if there's an aid i could pay for on the i phone, that would make phone conversations understandable, when my son calls me from his, hmmmmmmm again.

although to be honest, this problem has been much improved since he started phoning, whilst standing on his head, rotating his left leg in an anti clockwise motion, and holding the phone at a 37.38% angle to the nearest mirror.

thankyou apple for resolving this problem, well done.

Purely a personal point of view: Tra has had an iPhone 4 for several months and I've played around with it a lot. My Galaxy S2 pisses all over it. I can't find a single thing (that I need) that the iPhone does better than the Samsung..

And the Galaxy is sexier

In which case, the iPhone is not for you. Each to their own. I am very happy with mine though, as are the vast majority of users.
