Too low and I look like an 18th century aristocrat.
Try the middle
Why is there no middle ground?!
How do y'all do it?? " |

I know what you mean, there's definitely a sweet spot for ponytail placement. I tend to have mine quite high as it's the position that makes my face look least like a hamster that has a weeks worth of food stored in it's cheek pouches! I'll often opt for just clipping the top section back to keep it out of my face, it looks much better than a ponytail. |

"Why not try it as two ponytails? One layered over the other. One high and one low underneath it "
I've tried this, it still just looks like a high pony on me (i.e not good) |

"Don't look in the mirror while you're doing it, just do it instinctively. My best pony tails are done like that "
Same! I think the problem might be I straightened my hair, which took all the volume out. So the pony just looks flat and lifeless |

I quite like my hair in a high up ponytail. It’s not what I would choose for a night out, as I’d always have my hair down for that.
I generally always wear it up at work. For me, loose hair at work = nits |

"You put your fingers on your temples and follow your skull round until they meet.
That's where your pony tail should be.
Omg this is genius!!!! "
Drag Queens have been known to tape their temples back like a face lift...
Kate Moss combs her hair tight back... Apparently it's called a Croydon Facelift... |

I don’t remember that being a problem when I still had enough hair (and fear of hair dressers) to have a ponytail. My problem was that if I slept with my long hair not tied back, I would have unpleasantly vivid dreams. |

"Mine spends half its life in a ponytail or bun for work. Usually never look in the mirror when doing it....maybe that's why I always look like I've been dragged through a hedge "
A man once said that tangled, tied up, just-been-fucked look was quite fetching... I guess I was... |

There is a middle ground but you never get there as you're distracted by all the butts and balls on the website... |
