I just ate a cinnamon danish fresh from the oven but I'm not not thinking I shouldn't have. I only answered the thread because I want to know if you mean a pasty between two slices of bread and butter. If you do, respect!

I caved and made roast potatoes. Dipped them in some bread sauce that needed using up. I kind of think I shouldn't have but they were worth it.

When I was a young, trade training there was a cafe on site. A sausage sandwich was £1.15. A jumbo sausage roll was 50p and toast 20p. So to save money on a sausage sandwich (on a trainee wage at that point) I would order a jumbo sausage roll and toast (but ask for it un toasted). Cut sausage roll in half, put both half's inside my bread and have a sausage roll sandwich for 70p. Cheap and saved getting out of bed extra early for the sad looking breakfast scraped together in the cook house.
