I personally don't ever go to a social with any more expectations than it being a social, it has on occasions turned out to be more but only when it felt right by both or all parties, it's so easy to just ask how relaxed the other person feels and if they feel you might meet again to take the next step, it helps to gauge how things are, if they are more experienced than you let them take the lead. That works from my perspective but I appreciate your circumstanced are different. |

Often being in the right place at the right time, or experience has taught me where there is a greater opportunity, FAB not included.
To answer you OP, sure everyone is different, usually a relaxed chat maybe over a drink, finding common ground, but generally if the chemestry is there you'll know immediately, kind of undressing each other.
