The big acts now play The Motorpoint, further up the city.
Rock City has a great website, where it highlights many of the huge names that have played there.
Its more of a student venue now but still very much one of the stalwarts of the live music scene. |

Way way too loud in there. Music totally distorted. Living off hype now. Try the city’s dot-to-dot festival which lets you into multiple venues for one fixed price and you’ll have the chance to decide for yourself. |

Been going since '87.
Great for gigs.
Not sure what the club nights are like any more but judging by the queues to get in it still seems busy.
Rescue Rooms next to Rock City is also great for gigs. As is the Bodega opposite the Pit & Pendulum going up towards Hockley. |

80s 90s for me too. Always a good music venue in the dark and distant. But looking at the posts I'm not alone. Saw grandmaster flash and the five there. That was an outstanding night to think of 1. |
