What diet will you be following this year?

Jump to: Newest in thread

By *hagTonight OP   Man  over a year ago

From the land of haribos.

The preparation have started for the summer. I dont really see it as "dieting" as I like to do it, cos I am following flexible dieting, where I can enjoy all the food as long as I hit my calorie limit. I am starting to eat at maintenance and then after each month I will evaluate to see if I have to decrease calories or increase the cardio

I'd need a calorie limit of about 10,000 a day to fit in all the foods I like Shag

I’m continuing with intermittent fasting. I’ve done it for a long time now. I mostly eat one meal a day (breakfast) and a light snack as and when late on

If you’re looking to lose weight, it is fairly quite simple so do whichever methods work best for you, but as long as you take in less calories than what you need to maintain, you should see success in your endeavours!

I don’t diet for the summer, I generally lose a stone then start eating more because I feel I can, gain a stone, panic, lose a stone etc. I’ve just got to the panic stage again! Gave up sugar four days ago but today has been hard work

Little and often with lots of fruit and veg. Need to up my water intake.

Not limiting calories really, just making better choices. If I want crisps or chocolate then I'll have a little.

Back at the gym so need to fuel my body properly

I’m still a work in progress. I just seek a calorie deficit and continue to eat the foods I like. Just less of them.

It’s worked for me for the last 18 months. 65kg lighter.

Not a diet. But I am going to be conscious more on what I eat. Instead of aimlessly putting sweets into my mouth whilst watching TV I'll break my gaze, look at the sweet, acknowledge the sugar content and place it in my mouth. If I do that enough I'll get sick of not understanding the storyline of whatever I'm watching.

But seriously... Less sugar, more healthy foods and move more. I'm not going to eat "healthy" meals I don't like though. I have to enjoy my food.

I enjoy fasting too so I may do that. I haven't decided. It's not even a week into January yet.

If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take you to adjust? I've tried it a few times (though in reverse and not eating anything before lunchtime) but can't sustain it for long or just end up eating as many calories as I would normally, just in a shorter window! Maybe it's just a lack of discipline on my part...?!

I kinda just go with a general idea of what foods are good for me and what isn't. I don't really track the macro nutrients but I know I burn around 2,500 calories a day and I'd like to be a surplus without gaining that much fat.

Somewhere

I don’ t diet but eat very healthy. Hardly eat bread , never eat chocolate or sweets , I don’t drink alcohol, no crisps or any snacks , no fizzy drinks. I drink a lot of kefir and eat sauerkraut which is very good for immune system. Also drink Breuss organic juice made from fresh squeezed specific fruits.

I’m active runner.

This works for me and I have lost a lot of weight although I don’t want to lose it but just to maintain and be healthy.

People...calories are not the key.

Its maintaining low insulin. Hormones play a massive part in dictating hunger and how food is utilised.

I will keep eating my anti-inflammatory way of eating.

No calorie counting. No hunger.

I know what you mean but if you grin and bare it for a good while, then you'll have a much better idea of portion sizes. Moving forward you'll be able to track less and less the more you learn. In the long run it's more sustainable than something like 5:2

Yeah good advice. It's one of those things you know you should do, but once you're out of the habit it's tough to start again. Best fire up my app again.

I’ll continue with my healthy eating plan, that I’ve been doing for a while.

Clean eating, very carefully managed portions, and the very odd treat if I fancy it.

I do allow myself a bit of dark chocolate every day.

Diets don’t work. I lost two stone last year through a calorie deficit. Check your maintenance calories then deduct 300 - 1000 depending how much you can/want to lose. 95% of weight loss is in the kitchen. I’ve got another half stone or so to my target weight so I’ve upped my gym work to start toning and increasing muscle mass a little.
