Not 100% sure but I think you can delete the message thread and this will also delete the photos. |

Yes they can. Doesn't matter if you delete your messages they can still see them.
If you delete the pics from your photo gallery the pics used to disappear from their message too.
Don't know if that's still the case.
If they saved the pics to their phone or laptop nothing you can do about that. |
