Bishop Tutu is to be cremated using a pressurised alkaline solution that will leave only his bones to be baked and reduced to ash.

More eco friendly, hygienic and previously used to dispose of animal carcasses.

Not sure if available in this country yet? Maybe soon available as part of your funeral plan…

I googled this yesterday as I hadn't heard of it before. It is legal in UK but no facilities. Illegal in 30 US states.

Facilities are starting to be introduced here. They are known as 'aquamation' or 'resomation'.
