Glasgow

Over the years I used many hotel rooms for meeting but it was always just me and another person so a room for 2 adults. I wonder if I want to meet a couple in a hotel room for just a few hours and not staying overnight or having food menu, would I need to book a family room? Not all hotel have the availability for 3 adults' room and it could be more expensive.

Would like to hear please from people who booked a room for 2 adult but there was 3 meeting. Was it straight forward and considered as visitors not staying overnight or hotel staff declined that.

I guess it may depend on the hotel but would love to hear your experience.

Thank you

It's a really straightforward thing to do

Last night three of us met in a hotel room that officially had one adult staying in it.

Wasn't an issue, pretty sure hotel didn't even notice but if they did they certainly didn't care.

I love hotels so will often arrange meets there, book a room with me as the official guest and whoever I'm meeting just visits my room.

Different if you're planning on a party for 17, I dare say.

The issue there is fire regulations

We have met people in hotels before. We have booked the room and intend to sleep over, we just take our playmates to our room for an hour or two of fun before they leave.

If we are all staying over night then we book multiple rooms as most hotels only allow for 2 adults to sleep in one room, and as long as you keep the noise down they rarely bother us.

You may find some hotels are offering day rooms now, where you can use a room for a few hours in the afternoon.

When we used to go to Blackpool regularly with girlfriends, we always booked triple rooms, clearly stating they were for 3 adults.

We always booked "gay" hotels and never had a problem. (one owner used to find it funny when Dave went down for breakfast alone because the girls were still shagging)

Book a family room.

Plenty of space and no issues with fire regulations.

Never heard of this. How you search for this? Is it like an option box you tick on booking.com search page?

Just do a search for hotel day rooms and you will find several sites offering them.
