As Christmas 2021 fades gently away into history, I have one question which I churn in my mind whilst travelling home each day.
Christmas Lights. I remember the good old days of interchangeable bulbs and the ubiquitous, white tipped, fuse bulb. I'm sure I can also remember a larger range of bulb colours. Red, pink, blue, turquoise, orange, yellow, purple.
Today, the colours of Christmas Lights are more vibrant, but they are also more restricted. Generally, there's just red, green, orange, blue.
When these modern lights are set to alternating between 2 colours, what is your favourite combination?
Red & Green, then Orange & Blue?
Red & Blue, then Orange & Green?
Red & Orange, then Green & Blue?

"I like white lights
Fair enough, and white lights certainly have their place.
Warm white or cold white?
Oh warm, much more xmassy"
Indoors on a Christmas tree, I would prefer the warmth of warm white.
However, outdoors, I do think the cold white lights are more reminiscent of winter and snow. The warm white lights outdoors just remind me of yellow snow.
However, there is one thing which would put me off more than being asked "Is it in yet" and that is white lights mixed with coloured lights.
The last time I had white lights mixed with coloured lights, I'd run out of coloured bulbs but had lots of white tipped fuse bulbs! |

So, in this battle of the colours, warm white is winning.
Aaw, who'd have known it?
I'm getting one of those.... romantica, ....all over, ..... warm, ...... glows.
It's like cuddling up to watch my 2 favourite films - Rita Sue Bob Too and Christmas Lights. We can save the complete carry on collection for later?
Oh, you found my secret Confessions complete DVD series? Well, let's not tell the neighbours! |
