Hopefully you've had chance to catch up on some good books over the holidays, or maybe santa brought you some new ones
What book are you currently reading, or just finished?
Did you like it, would you recommend it?
What have you got lined up next? |

I’m actually writing my own recipe book. My sone bought it me (a blank one) and I’m enjoying writing my favourites in it to hopefully hand down one day. |

I've always enjoyed reading, Dan brown, John Grisham etc. I thought i would try and educate myself a bit, and read some American classics. I started with, to kill a mocking bird, then cannery row, currently reading on the road by Jack kerouac, good read, with interesting characters |

I find the breadth of what everyone reads to be fascinating!
I just finished 'Girl, Woman, Other' by Bernardine Evaristo.
I didn't think i would enjoy it, but was was very interesting... The book introduces us to 12 black women and we learn the story of their lives, background, family and their sex life!
I have a much greater understanding of non-binary gender too as a result..
It was a wonderfully written book and i would definitely recommend it |

That might be a resolution right there, to finish it!
I’ve read another of his.. they’re good but can be a slog"
I got through his Vietnam one, eventually... there's no doubt, they're brilliant books. But yeah, a slog |

The Night Circus. Well rereading it anyway. A wise man said to me everyone needs their soul nourishing once in a while and he's right. I've read so many texts over the years. Hastily pored over, soon forgotten. So rather than starting a new book, I've decided to embrace the soothing and fantastical writing of Morgenstern once more. Soul nourishment is good.
Next I'm reading something apt for the new year - The Body Is Not An Apology. |

I have a few on the go, I'm trying to encourage my kids to read more so we've set up a little book club, unfortunately they are at different stages with their reading so I'm reading a different book alongside way of them.
I'm reading Girl of Ink and Stars (10 year olds choice) and There's a Werewolf in my Tent (8 year olds choice).
For myself I'm reading Dan Jones - Power and Thrones. |

Radical self love. Not apologising for existing, for being you. I've not yet read it but I'm going from the blurb. My little sister got it for me as a Christmas present, she's very much about being you, warts and all. I tend to be a bit erm... not on board with that type of text but I'm removing the stick from my arse and embracing it all. |

I just started Death on the Nile, by Agatha Christie, a bit of a throwback but I read another of hers earlier in the year that I really enjoyed (The murder of Roger Ackroyd), and I know they are making a new film of it so it seemed a good choice. |

I don’t know how far along the path you are, but I might be inclined to start with Brene Brown, Glennon Doyle or Rebecca Campbell (any of theirs that appeal), but really they have to be something that speak to you.
Mary Magdalene revealed is a fantastic book as well, and one I listened to on Audible, as it’s read by the author. |

The series they've come out with.. have you seen it?"
No, I haven't. Tbh I'm not really sure that I want to, how on earth they're going to condense 14 books down into a TV series without completely butchering the story, I don't know |

I’m re reading “Mother Tongue” by Bill Bryson. It’s a history of the English language and explains some of the absurdities that non native speakers have to try and understand.
It sounds heavier than it is! He’s quite an amusing writer.
