My disabled daughter won an achievement award tonight. I am so proud of her she went up on the stage and kissed the Mayor (which took him by surprise) It was because she had spent 8yrs in the Autism unit seeing children come and go and then the school decided that Josie would MAYBE come in a class of her own age she would progress. It was what she wanted big time although still non-verbal she is very happy to be with peers of her own age,
Not only is my wish for to talk, but i wish sometimes that we could post photo's on here because i want to show all my Fab friends HOW proud i am tonight.... (Perky) |

Good for you and for her Perky!.
We may not be able to see how proud you are, but it shines in every word of your post.

Children are great, just when you think there is nothing left that could give you more pride for them they go and prove you wrong. Glad that your daughter is enjoying her education and that you get to enjoy it too. I was told that strength comes from within but support comes from the ones closest to us. Hope you all have a great day |

What a lovely thread.
Its a wonderful feeling when your children achieve something and they are pleased and you yourself are so proud.
The words 'hearts swelling with love' may sound dramatic but its such an accurate description. You feel so euphoric when you look at your children, it means so much more than your own personal achievements. Its just what being a parent means. Its the most beautiful moment in the world.
Enjoy your heart swelling moments |

Congratulations to your daughter and also to you as I am sure your obvious love and support has enabled her to progress thus far and she will continue to do so.
Children are a blessing , whatever their abilities or difficulties and it really is heart warming to read your post..there really is nothing better than the immense pride we can feel as parents when our children receive recognition for their achievements xx
