A fully homemade dinner of turkey, honey & mustard pigs in blankets, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, brussel sprouts fried in butter with garlic and bacon, cara_elised carrots, and yorkshire puddings. Then it was Christmas pudding, sticky toffee pudding, rum sauce or cream.
Followed by a selection of chocolate mints and malteaser truffles and coffee.
I was very happy how it went as it was the very first Christmas dinner that I've ever made. |

Yay, this is brilliant to read! Impressed the sticky toffee puddings weren't eaten before then. |

I only did sides this year...
Rosemary and garlic roasted potatoes.
Honey, cumin and chilli glazed roasted carrots and parsnips.
Parmesan roasted Brussel sprouts. Roasted mushrooms.
Celeriac dauphinoise (had a celeriac sitting in the fridge, didn't know what to do with it, took a chance on a dauphinoise and it blew everyone's bloody socks off )
Also tried making red cabbage with apples and onion but burnt the lot
For dessert I made a strawberry tart from scratch with sweet sablé pastry and crème pâtissiere. Would die for that tart |
