Who DON'T use stealth mode to view profiles?
What happens when you look at someone's profile? Do they notice? Do you use it as a way of attracting attention?

Man/woman thing. I would be flattered if a woman regularly viewed my profile, as well as frankly astounded. I think most women would be creeped out when I keep looking at their profile. |

There are quite a few. It’s always nice to see. I never message them though, unless they wink or message me first.
When you block guys, you only get a rolling count of who has looked at you that match your preferences which is cool. |

This is why we went into stealth mode. You'd accidentally click on a profile while scrolling and then the profile owner would bombard with messages  |

I think this only works with blocking one of the groupings like men/women/couple/TV. I.e. what are you looking for? Either that or men have never looked at me |

I don't use stealth. Sometimes I get "thanks for looking at my profile", but not often. It certainly doesn't feel like something that's a huge issue for me.
If I've liked something in a profile I will message. If I've found something really off-putting that makes me think I'd never want to chat with that person I will pre-emptively block (that doesn't happen often though). |

It's reasonable to say that there's a healthy number of women who don't employ the "stealth mode".
It doesn't serve as a stimulus for me: when they look at my profile I just let it be and mind my own business. |

From the answers on this thread, a lot of people seem to think a view = a sign of interest. Which is not the case. You can't tell whether you're interested in someone from a tiny thumbnail and username. You usually have to read their profile and check out the rest of their pics before deciding whether they're for you. Yet they might take the fact you viewed them as an opening.

As explained above, we're in stealth mode because of the constant messages coming off the back of profile views, including those clicked in error etc. Also, while on this theme, if someone DOES choose to send a "thanks for viewing my profile" message or similar wording, and don't get a reply, there's no need to follow it up with a multitude of extra messages |

Anyone can engage with anyone they wish. Stealth mode helps keep the messages to a minimum. I may look at a profile because of an update or something that they have posted...doesn't mean I'm interested in them nor want the "hey thanks for looking message".
It certainly doesn't mean I think I'm better than anyone else! |

I notice a few people that view regularly. Maybe they are just curious, I don't message purely because someone views my profile. Also 90% of the time I'm out of their age range. |

From the answers on this thread, a lot of people seem to think a view = a sign of interest. Which is not the case. You can't tell whether you're interested in someone from a tiny thumbnail and username. You usually have to read their profile and check out the rest of their pics before deciding whether they're for you. Yet they might take the fact you viewed them as an opening.
