Alone at Christmas and happy?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Was just wondering how many people are going to be alone over Christmas but actually happy to be so??
I'm not a people person and enjoy my own company mostly but couldn't imagine life without wife and family.
I've had some lonely Christmas when younger. |

Seeing my parents and brother Christmas Day, then I won't see a soul until Thursday 30th, when a couple of work colleagues are popping round to visit.
That is perfect for me! |

You are indeed correct I would be a very sad lonely individual without her over 35 wonderful years together even one day apart is one day too many.

I will be alone again for the third year in a row, not really anyone near here I’m that interested in spending the day with, but It can suck a bit at times. I might head to the coast for a sea front walk if it’s a nice day, or curl up with a good book if it’s not. |

Been looking forward all year to spend Christmas with family down south, 10 days before we were due to travel (yesterday) I went down with a virus. I could happily spend the day alone, in my bed with my cats…. Apart from feeling crap, I’ve got laryngitis on top so can’t even talk |

I've been offered this year, and every other year, to spend Christmas with friends but I prefer it alone since my split. I don't get melancholic, just have a nice routine I'm looking forward to now all my rushing about and present giving is done. |

I'm glad to see the majority are ok being alone. I myself in my 40's spent a few alone. It was a chance to "please me". I did what I wanted and when I wanted. I even had curry for lunch. Being alone, you can set your own rules. You don't have to stick to rules, making everything perfect and everyone happy. It's only another day, and as long as the kids are happy. Keep your chin up everyone. Lots of Love. - fem. |

I'll finish work tomorrow and sob when I get home. Same as I do every year
Then after a bit of crying that I wish my life had turned out differently I'll pull myself together and be thankful I ain't lonely WITH someone coz that's even worse. |

I will wager that only a few will be spending Christmas alone in the Robinson Crusoe sense.
Today, for instance, I have not seen another being but so far have received two phone calls and exchanged several text messages.
For most people living on their own, keeping in touch via electronic media is the norm and there is no reason for it to be suspended on the big day. |

Alone again this Christmas. I've been invited to join friends and extended family but I really can't be fucked.
Can't be bothered to travel and I don't take well to joyous occasions. Im like a real life scrooge.
I see friends, nieces, nephews, half my age with partners and it grates me that im single.
So I prefer to stay away rather than sitting in someone else's house stewing |
