We're plant based so have to do it a bit different.

This year we'll have:

Burger covered in stuffing and sauce

Sausages

Roasties

Mustard mash potatoes

Dairy free yorkshires

Carrots in ginger

Peas & whatever other veggies I can find

Covered in beef gravy because oddly that's vegan!

Me too

I think it's a secret campaign to make people accidentally vegan.

I never have turkey because I don't really like it...goose, chicken, pork, lamb or ham are alternatives that I've cooked in the past. Chicken this year

Chicken and gammon this year, which is utterly excessive for one but, I hate missing out just because I am on my own. In the past I have done duck or beef as I find turkey over rated.

past christmas dinners have been, spatchcock, ostrich, kangaroo, venison, gammon, three bird roast. Usually have chicken rather than turkey.

When I was young our family always had roast beef because my dad didn't like turkey or chicken

One year there was only 3 of us for Christmas dinner but usually there is 12-16 of us. We decided to get a small Turducken. It’s was absolutely disgusting. Never again

I didn’t even realise that until I actually typed it out just there. It certainly tasted like turd

Many of the gravy mixes, like Marmite are vegan and don’t include any animal product.

On a mooch

Roast beef is the main, never had turkey for Christmas. Growing up it was chicken and or honey roast gammon joint.

The times I’m on my own I’ll have a chicken curry or a chilli.

My best Christmas meal I had in 2018 pre Covid.

I was in Fez, Morocco and had an evening meal in a restaurant in a converted palace. We had about 12 courses with fantastic entertainment.

We were a group of 14 women on a holiday trip and had a table at the side of the stage so had a a great view of the performers and we were dragged in to take part several times.

Not a traditional Christmas but I find that a traditional Christmas isn’t the same if you don’t have small children to share it with.

About 20 years ago I was on ma own one Xmas, inbetween relationships, and all ma mates were going to their relatives etc.

I got lads of beer & nibbles in and couldn't be arsed to cook a proper dinner. I had cheese & beans on toast, ma dog ate better than I did that year

We had so many people one year that cooking and serving up a traditional dinner would have been nigh on impossible, not to mention we couldn't seat them all, so we did it buffet style. Still had turkey, beef and gammon with trays of roast potatoes but did all the usual buffet food too. Was a bit strange at first but turned into a great party.

Cheese on toast.

Worked all through so no point in buying actual food.

Did I enjoy it? Nope. Was an extra kick in the teeth

Bought myself a turkey thigh as I'll be on my own as usual. I do Christmas on Friday, being continental, and then it's just "Saturday".
