So I have been told I have to make the cocktails on Christmas Day. Although this year I’m feeling pretty uninspired this year. I may end up making strawberry Daiquiris.
What are your fave cocktails?
Porn star martini anyone?

abruzzo Italy (and UK) |
Depends what spirits etc you have and equipment/glasses too.
Built cocktails (made in the glass) are the easiest, so things like a mojito, a sloe comfortable screw or a Black Russian |

You can’t go wrong with an old fashioned ..
Here’s three to get you going
Classic: bourbon, sugar syrup, ice, regular bitters, garnish with a cherry
Rum: a good sipping dark rum (Diplomatico), sugar syrup, chocolate bitters, a tiny splash of orange, garnish with orange.
Tequila: a decent 100% blue agave anjeo tequila, agave syrup, regular bitters garnish with orange.
And of cause a proper Vespa. 3 parts london gin, 2 parts vodka (grain based preferably) and one part sacred amber vermouth ( the closest you will get to the original kina lillet these days) |

I do like an old fashioned. I think it best done with bullet bourbon, muscavado sugar, bitters and orange peel. The bitters, sugar and peel should be muddled with a spoon and the bourbon added about teaspoon at a time and stirred with ice and slowly added bit by bit. They take ages to make but are delicious. |

Dark and stormy: rum, ginger beer, lime juice or just a slice of lime
Old fashioned: whisky, orange bitters, simple syrup, orange zest to garnish
This summer I've taken a liking to floradoras: gin, raspberry liqueur, lime juice, ginger beer
Mary Pickford: Bacardi, pineapple juice, tiny splash of grenadine, splash of maraschino
Martinez: equal parts gin and red vermouth, tiny bit of maraschino, little splash of orange bitters
Boulevardier: equal parts campari and red vermouth, slightly larger serving of bourbon - basically a negroni but using bourbon instead of gin
Since it's Christmas some mulled wine or spiced cider or hot rum punch will work too. |

I made a great cocktail when i dabbled a little in mixology. Its a cuba libre with a little twist to it
1-3 measures of spiced rum depending how strong you want it
0.5-1.5 measures of ginger ale to match the rum
Half to 3 qtrs of a cup of crushed ice
Top it up with your preferred cola brand, pepsi / coca cola
Gentle squeeze from a lemon wedge
Add a lemon slice
You could use dr pepper to accompany the ginger ale and spiced rum but ive yet to try that, though i feel the dr pepper might give it nice alternative to the flavour |
