Having a bad day

Jump to: Newest in thread

Hey everyone, it's not really a cry for help or attention. I've had a bad day mentally and would like to reach out to my fellow fabbers and say that I'm open to talk to anybody that needs to talk. I know first hand that it's not fun being inside your own head at times.

Please don't hesitate to message if you need support. There are good people on here that are willing to listen.

You are not alone

I am sorry to hear that today has been a tough one for you.

I have had a low day, I am recovering from covid and feel drained which has had an impact on my emotions today. Feeling lethargic, aching and generally meh isn't a pleasant feeling and then add to that isolation and I am now climbing the walls although even if I could go out I wouldn't as it would wipe me out. I am usually a very active person and this has made me stop, I suppose I should look at the positives from the experience but right now I am dreading having to log on to work tomorrow. I know I should ring in sick but I know I won't.

Anyway I hope you pick up tomorrow and I hope I do too.

If today is not a good day for you, then perhaps it would drain you to give support to someone feeling similar

From my own experience, a way to feel better is to look after someone else.

It works in the short term. But not long term.

OP try and talk to anyone if you can

I echo this, it’s been a tough one, which ended in the funeral of a friends son, same age as my own. In some awful way, it’s made me grateful for what I’ve got.

Shout out if you’re having a tough time…

I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through that

I've been ill since I had my booster on Friday myself and I think that's the key cause for this episode. I'm the same work wise lol I never call in sick and it won't do me any good in the long run, I hope you feel better soon x

That's so kind of you OP to offer support to others. Talking to others who may be struggling can also be good therapy for you, one reason being it helps to know you're not the only one.

I've spent my life looking after others as it really helps when two people can talk about their issues. Bottling them up doesn't help at all. Sometimes I meet up with fellow fabbers just for a chat and it can be so cleansing

I am so sorry to hear that you've had to go through this mate. Life finds so many different ways to kick us. But I've always believed that it can bring things into perspective here if you need a chat buddy

It does help short term to help others as you focus on helping them. I have done this in my job after losing both parents afew weeks apart. It has now really hit me as the 1st anniversary of my Dad passing was last week. Super low at times and now diagnosed as depressed. It has to come out sometime...talking is good but can be very painful. You will find a way of coping that works for you..

Next Door

OP sorry you are having a bad day and the same goes to anyone else that's in the same place.

Today/ the weekend hasn't been the best for me either.

Doesn't help that the weather is wet and grey.

Anyway, I went out for a long walk early which helped clear my head a bit.

It's great to reach out and offer support to others when you aren't feeling A1, but you will be more drained afterwards and often in a worst place.

I'm being very selfish today and putting me 1st.

That doesn't mean I would not help if someone asked.

I hope everyone's mood lifts soon.

Take care
