Having perused the forums for a while, I decided that what people really need is a quick way to start a thread with no actual purpose other than to be the first person in the thread and use a bit of time up doing some light arguing and back slapping.
The best way to achieve this is to ask a question that has no definitive answer, but to suggest that is what you are trying to get from the thread. In this way, some people will swear blind that A is the answer, and others that Z is the answer. Once you have built up a critical mass of A and Z warriors, the B-Y brigade can then wade in criticising the original question, or just generally shooting off at a tangent having taken offence or merriment at a particular word choice from an A or a Z.
So without further ado, here is the template for the perfect thread for just using up your free time with no particular point:
Step 1) Make the title deliberately vague, using a single word or couple of words from the sentence in Step 2 below but devoid of context
Step 2) Make the first thread title appear in the first sentence of the post in the form of a question.
- Ensure the question has no possibility of a definitive answer as it's purely opinion
- Ensure that the spread of opinions is such that neither end of the extreme would be shy to state theirs, and that both will get get lots of traction
- Ensure that 2 possible answers that are diametrically opposed are suggested as possible choices, preferably Yes or No.
Step 2A) (Optional) replace the above with an open ended question that no answer can be argued for or against with any particularly accuracy.
Step 3) Profit
EXAMPLE:
Thread Title: "What tits are best?"
Thread Sentence: "Are massive clangers the best or fried eggs?"
For best results, ensure you asked a question that has been asked at least 23 times that week, e.g. use the topics of body hair, anal etc...
Do let me know if there are any tweaks to this formula. And please do not confuse it with entitlement thread generation regarding meets or messages, those follow different rules... |
