I'm not going to make nasty comments on a woman I don't know, but the lenient sentencing seems to send a poor message- it's not likely to act as much of a deterrent to others.

I think the court gave a suspended sentence as she is spending £7k a week for treatment at the Prior (despite bankruptcy).

Can't see a "regular" person being treated so softly.

She clearly has addictions. Her solicitor will have told her very clearly how close she was to going to prison and what will happen if she reoffends.

I agree that she behaves as a hopeless case but I’ve seen people turn their lives around who were as bad.

I personally support her decisions

Her mental health wasn’t in a good place and she absolutely should be able to drive when she needs it, even if under the influence. For her mental health

Wish she got a lighter sentence

As it’s you I know it’s sarcasm but I don’t even think I’d be shocked to see this as an actual opinion on here if I’m totally honest.

I’m surprised there’s not been more support for her.

My opinion is as it always was. Money and celebrity status buys you freedom and privilege where the average person falls.

She should be behind bars for a long time. I know people that have been for way less

I wonder if the people saying you shouldn't judge would have something different to say if they or their family where affected by someone who was involved in a crash with a driver under the influence.

I will judge, she shouldn't have got behind the wheel in that state and looks like she got off lightly because she is going through a bankruptcy ( it seems to be the longest bankruptcy ever )

They all do. Money buys freedom. I know a guy that permanently disabled a guy on holiday in a fight. Stamped on the guts head while he was unconscious, all caught on CCTV. Daddy is rich though so he didn’t even spend a day in prison .

I personally think it’s helpful to point out hypocrisy when you see it. The fact she’s avoided prison because of her status is a clear problem in our justice system that needs to be fixed. This thread raises awareness to that

You do all know that the Ministry lay out strict sentencing guidelines that have to be followed to the letter, are recorded, regularly monitored and have to be absolute adhered to.

It’s not a question of just ‘liking her tits’ or ‘being a celebrity’ as much as we would all like to believe it

There was a thing on the news actually to say it was being looked into as to whether sentencing guidelines had been adhered to in this case.

It was not her 5th offence, it was her 5th ban, god knows how many offences she commited in the past.

Thing is, her kids must really look up to her, what a nice mum they have. Surprised she hasn't left any of that icing sugar loafing where her kids could find it.

If it had been someone else and ran over one of her kids driving whilst banned and laced with alcohol and drugs, she would have used her name and been in the press wanting and screaming for justice.

I hope the press and media just dump her and refuse to cross her palm with cash for more drugs.

As for the bloke hanging off her arm, what the hell was he thinking, says as much about him as it does her.

"Stupid cow. She’s trash.

*awaits someone coming along with the mental health and #bekind card*"

Mental health isn't an excuse to behave badly and disregard right from wrong or endanger other people.

It annoys me no end when that card gets pulled out.

Perhaps occasionally in extreme circumstances but Katie price certainly doesnt qualify

Yes sorry I was specifically referring to the bans but from what I have read she has accumulating over 26 driving offences in 10 years.

Good lawyers/barristers can present a better cause for you.

Look at my example above. A guy I know literally disabled someone in a steeet fight and never saw prison because daddy spent every penny he could on his defence

She was also in breach of previous sentencing, so what was she doing in front of a magistrate.

Not sure why you feel that is funny because I bet people said exactly the same thing about Caroline flack didn't they. Oh it doesn't matter she won't see it. It doesn't matter whether she sees it or not to be honest it is absolutely right that these things are completely irrelevant and if she was a man would not even have been brought up!

Exactly. Ant mcpartlin crashed d*unk driving and actually injured others - if he had kids would they be mentioned? Did his appearance come into it?

I do understand the 2 cases a very different because this was his 1st offence and he was very apologetic and went and sought help immediately whereas with Katie price that wasn't the case however as you pointed out, How many husbands she's had and who much make she wore are irrelevant.

Actually she didn't get the holidays for free, Most companies that used to work with her no longer want anything to do with her because let's be honest would you want her as a brand ambassador.

What isn’t nice to read is the comments on having her children taken away, or the number of children she has (as if it’s relevant) the amount of husbands.

How much make up she had on, the judge liking her tits etc.

"

no offense here but you cant play the child card to avoid it.

If jail was handed to her what would happen to her children.

If you didnt get behind the wheel in the first place you wouldnt be facing jail for the second offense.

didnt think about that when she got behind the wheel.

Everyone else would face jail for drink driving why not her.

Obviously I haven't seen the transcripts of the case, but you can bet your bottom dollar that card would have been well played by her defence team. She was a subject that was spoken about today outside of the fab world today, where a retired local magistrate who was part of the conversation said exactly that! Judges can only deal with facts, and proof beyond reasonable doubt, and not opinions, were his words. According to him, it's very rare for a judge to lock up a mother especially if her legal team can plead a strong enough case that her kids are totally dependant on her. I don't agree with it in view of the gravity of the case, but it seems that's the way it is.

Let’s face it, if she did get prison she’d be living her best life with all the luxuries, she’d be in a private cell 100%

But it is a disgrace she’s basically been let off

Can you IMAGINE if any of her kids had been in the car! People wouldn’t be so quick to defend her

If her kids were the reason she got off then that’s a joke because Harvey is in residential & I’m pretty sure the others are often at their dad’s anyway

That won't happen, after 5 bans already, plus numerous other court appearances, she isn't the type to learn or utilise what rehab will offer her.

Awful woman, she's only getting away with it because of her 'celebrity' status, the law is always applied differently to anyone with a whiff of fame about them.

She's so desperate for attention she even pays photographers to 'pap' her so it keeps her in the headlines, have a look at the watermark on the majority of photos of her that appear in the press, it's a company called backgrid that Z listers use for that reason.

London/Essex... ish... Romford to be exact

'Entertainer Darren Day was banned from the road for five years and fined £1,250 today for his second drink-driving offence in two years'

Where is the consistency in the legal system? He is obviously lower down in the food chain and doesn't have as effective legal representation. It is all just make it up as you go along.
