I know someone who during lockdown was asked to work from home. Met an American girl and moved to Miami. Managed to fool work into thinking he was sat at hone in Doncaster working away. For over a year! |

"Why should an employer pay you a UK salary rate if your living costs are that of Greece? Employers are getting wise to this."
Because they want him to do the job?
They could have already been hiring someone from Greece if that's all that mattered. |

One of our engineers decided to retire and move out to Spain and rented their home out over here.
After 3 years brexit happened and they started getting twitchy and had a quote to see what private health care may cost them.
They are now back in the UK as their quote was €1000 each per month.
They sold up over there but are like yo yo's and want to go back now |

Crikey, that's a 4am start for him in local time, assuming 9am here |

I know someone who does exactly that. For 3 years, works for a UK company. Starts at 5am US time (10am UK time).
The company know though, it's not a secret. |

I worked from Hong Kong for a while. The time difference worked perfectly. I got to spend the days with my kids, then after bedtime stories, I'd log on for my UK morning meeting
As long as the job gets done, I don't see why it should matter. Companies are saving a fortune these days in office space, rent, rates, heating, lighting etc. It's a win-win.
