I'm not strictly a cat person. But our 11 year old cat passed away this morning.

I was actually gutted to hear the news, I was at work and was told by the Mrs. She used to curl up on my lap nearly every single night (the cat that is!), she'll be missed.

You have my sympathy. I lost one of my cats last year and don't know where I'd be without my remaining boy. Cats are wonderful companions and nowhere near as aloof as people think x

Sorry to hear that.

They become family, don't they?

Sorry to hear that OP, that's always a hard thing to go through One of my parents' cats died while I was away and we'd had her since I was young so I was pretty upset about that I know nothing can replace them but have you thought about adopting another cat from a shelter yet?

Sorry to hear that. You don't need to be a cat person in general to miss the presence of a particular cat.

Aww, as a cat lover I'm sorry to read this, they're part of the family.

Sending you a hug.

Thank you all for your kind replies.

But I'll tell you what sticks in my throat, the vets. She was rushed up to them, had a blood test, and some oxygen, but she passed on. For this we were charged well over £300.

You bastards.

We have next to no money, and my son had to pay. I shall reimburse him somehow.

Veterinary's, how the fuck do you sleep at night.

Ashes to ashes

Catnip to catnip

May she find peace among the balls of yarn and washing baskets

I know it's hard and you're feeling down but you do also have to remember that vets are a business not charities and they have costs to cover. Try not to hold it against them, they provide an amazing service but one that ultimately still costs money

I lost my dog in September and still heartbroken. He was always by my side and life is not the same without him. Pets are very special.

A year and a bit on from losing my beloved bulldog. I miss him everyday. I keep his ashes in the house still as I can’t bring myself to spread them. His character and companionship is such a loss to me.

Losing a pet is a unique pain.

Sorry for the loss op.

Sorry about your wee fur baby.

I was always a dog person and then we adopted a crazy wee feral cat is a serial killer. I adore her. Think she's my kindred spirit in a lot of ways.

Go for some private medical care and see how much that costs! At least their patients can tell the doctor whats wrong with them, vets have to work things out themselves
