I pretend I don't like it, but I don't mind it really. I like to buy little gifts for a close few friends and family.
But mainly, I am looking forward to 11 days off work and will not see a soul for about 7 of those days. |

Not me, I love it! It's never just one day for me, more 4 weeks of gatherings, parties and festiveness. Love going to all the lights displays and local fetes. |

"Christmas for me has always been a bit shit. Have had a lot of bad things happen around that time of year. Need a few decent ones to wipe the memory. Sadly it’s a bit shit at the moment. "
Hope it gets better. Xx |

I get two weeks off over the Xmas/NYE period as I teach but don't really enjoy either of these occasions. There's too much hassle, a weight of expectation is put on you to be here there and everywhere and it's usually the time of year I've given it my all at work in the run up and just need to sleep and rest! |

I'm a Grinch over cards.
I send them because I feel guilty if I don't and my family want to send them, but I think it's a total waste of paper and stamps.
I don't really understand the point of having a selection of cards on the mantelpiece by people who I'm literally only in touch with via a card once a year.
I just don't get the thought process behind it, now WhatsApp is so easily available to just message everyone and say "thinking of you over the holidays".

Its a horrible depressing time of year. Fake smile your way through it. Forced to spend time with people you wouldn't piss on half the time. Continuously being told to cheer up. Counting away pointless moments until you go back to work and start the whole shitshow all over again. Fuckin gravy. |

It's a strange one, my grandfather died on Christmas day when I was 10. So it's always a bit sad on the day. What used to upset me was my grans when Christmas things came into the shops, bless her.
I much prefer new year's Day, calennig and singing and walks. Perfect |

Having had "issues" of being born less than a week before hand as a child, I've always hated xmas.
Had some counselling during the year for something else but have changed my prospective of lots of things, including Christmas so will go into it with the same enthusiasm as i did when our kids were little.
The global family have had to endure the shit storm for so long, so its important for us all to create something that we can look back on as something good.
I'm of the view that the job I started and love this year has been a result of the positivity the counselling had on me and really want to carry this into helping make it memorable for those who we are sharing it with. |

One in every 25 year's, that Christmas should be set aside for us non Christmas partakers to Purge ourselves of all things Christmas. For 24 hours we are allowed take part in all acts of violence against anything Christmas related with no fear of imprisonment. Carol singer's, happy people, Religious practitioners, anyone that is seen to be full of Christmas cheer or taking part in a festive act is fair game.
It's only a day. |

I just hate people who boast about what they have brought for everyone.. there are people that are less fortunate and can only afford to buy what they can when it comes to presents.. specially when it comes to kids |

Agree with that. Used to hate people who we barely saw buying us items that had no place in our lives and feeling obliged to buy something back.
This has since been broached eith a common sense agreement to not buy for each other and save the money and stress of buying something.

Kids can be horrid and i remember not having as much and you can imagine those bully type of kids too. Their parents were probably in debt to pay for it all! It's not about the quantity it's about the thought unless it's a naughty full sack. I think some kids get a gross amount so no wonder they become brats lol

I have disliked Xmas being pushed in my face since September for a few years and not taken much part in it aside from Xmas food.
This year, after having very sorely missed family last year, having lost people over the last year, I'm going in the opposite direction this year and making the most of having family here while I still have them. This is year round but also now more effort over the Xmas period. |
