How many lurkers do you think are out there?
We get a lot of messages from people who say they saw a post of ours etc
Were you once a lurker? Or did you plunge right in? |

I lurked for about 6 weeks as my profile was hidden. When I was ready to go public again I started to join in. I would have given up except a couple of people would respond, View most notably, and I couldn't resist the political threads. Now, I do the silly ones. Not sure what that says about me or the forum  |

There are absolutely loads of lurkers. It's quite easy to forget this when you are posting. I'm in my own little world just waffling to the forumites lol.
When the Colin stories hit their peak I would get lots of messages from people that didn't join in the forum |

I forget there are lurkers and also have mail from people following what I say on the forums. I always message them and tell them the same thing, instead of telling me your point of view, get and post it in the forum and join in.
I have never been a lurker, if I want to say something I will. If people bite then bite back harder. I can't really understand why people would be nervous to join in an online discussion when noone can see you, knows you, or can really have any affect on you. I don't see the point of reading and not joining in |

I think my natural shyness kept me lurking for approximately 7.2 seconds once I was able to post...since then I don't think I've stopped! The forums are keeping me sane while I'm ill and stopping me from putting Jezza Kyle and Loose Women on (that's the day I take all my tablets in one go, have informed the family I won't leave a note, they'll realise cos the telly is on!!!) |

I get lots of messages from lurkers. Biggest shock, a couple of years ago i did a forums awards. I got about 90 replies and AT LEAST half of them didnt use the forums. But its nice sometimes when you get messages from people that enjoy your threads. Just a shame more dont post.

we haven't had a lurker on the forum as we haven't used it much. however we constantly have a couple viewing us.. up to 3 times a day at one point with no contact at all. do you count that as lurking?? |

I was a member for a while before I started using the forums regularly. I didn't really lurk but I did read through a few before getting involved. I've made some new friends through the process so its been good so far. |

Been on for 4 years and the forums have become a big part of my life I think of you all as my forum family we may not see eye to eye at times but most of the time you do make me laugh or cry and we do support each other when times are hard and I think the fabs forums are totally amazing.
