I learnt very quickly you can't have a cup of tea at work without making one for everyone in sight. Long story short, I'm now the person who 'doesn't drink tea'. |

"Everyday.
I hear you on the cup thing, I remember bleaching my Dad's tea cup once, he was not happy saying that his tea would never taste the same
"
I take mine home once a month and bleach it other than that it’s rinsed when it needs it.
Although my definition of needs maybe different to others.

We have a coffee machine with disposable cups where I work now. Bit at the last place I just swish hot water round before making a cuppa. And wipe over with blue roll now and then to get dirty finger prints off.
My work mate mug was dreadful though, it had more culture than he did lol |

"Bleach, in a cup?
The rough side of a sponge should suffice "
But that same thing has probably touched loads of other mugs and is also stained because Dave just had to use it to wash his pasta dish out with! |

I rinse after every drink and then I waste ten mins at the end of the day, slowly washing it and reading the same health and safety poster for the zillionth time |

"I used to rinse it after every drink and take it home each evening to wash.
I was unusual
That should be the norm!!! "
As long as mine was clean I wasn't much bothered about everyone elses. Some of them were spectacularly filthy though.
It's interesting how people's standards at work are so much different than at home. The communal kitchens were sometimes gross and I was the only one in the office who regularly cleaned my desk, keyboard and phone. They'd laugh at my pack of wipes . |
