Has anyone else read this true story about a drug addict who found an injured cat and how they became best friends supporting each other? There are many YouTube clips to give you a taste of what the book`s about and they have even appeared on the telly! |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
I have met Bob and his human many times. They would get on the same bus, Bob on James's shoulders, get off at Angel and sell the Big Issue there. They are now more settled and really getting on with life. |

"Just got that for my Kindle to read on hols, if it's rubbish, I'll blame you Bumpkin
I`m no book reader Caz but was given the book as a birthday present. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and probably being a cat lover helped."
Yeah, I'm staff to a couple of cats too, read loads but not usually real-life stuff so will be a bit different for me - got that, the new Lee Child and the new James Herbert for me hols |

I'm not going to read the book but Bob is amazing. He would sit outside the tube, never moving off his spot, and take the passing crowds in his stride. If he was walking, and not riding on James's shoulders, then he would walk to heel. He would usually be hitching a shoulder ride on the bus but when he wasn't he would enter at the front with everyone else and leave by the middle exit doors. |

As a cat lover, and a 'ard grrrrr man, I'll gladly admit that I bawled like a baby when I read the tale of Bob and his hooman.
It's a wonderful story of the connection between a person and their pet. Just beautiful. |

We met Bob years ago in Covent Garden ... he caught our eye because he was the near double of one of our cats and we couldn't believe he just sat there cool as anything amongst all the crowds. He must be getting on a bit now though, wonder how old he is?

I met them once and he was asking for money and cigs. Then a well dressed woman came up And he introduced her as his gf and she said was he ready to go home? He gave her a new pack of cigs and packed up his stuff and they left together
Some woman had given him food which he binned and he was very careful in how he answered people's questions
He carried on begging way after he was homeless and in need.

"I just found out that Bob plays himself in much of the film.
Who knew he was a talented actor as well."
They got some good lookalikes.
It was a good film. |

I've only seen the film and knew nothing about the 'back story'
When I realised/found out it was all true and the cat saved his life, I cried tears of joy that something so amazing was true.
I am crying as I type this so sad, but the cat had a wonderful life and did his human proud and I am sure Bob will never been forgotten.
Animals really are special gifts

I'm so heartbroken, I've followed from beginning, such a beautiful connection. Hope James is able to cope without Bob |

"He was ran over, even more gutting
He also had kidney problems too which seems to be quite a common ailment with cats."
Kidney disease can be quite common in aging cats. I’m not sure if you’ve seen anything online about grandpa mason, he went viral. He was a mean old feral who was trapped by the people caring for his colony when he became injured. They discovered that he had late stage terminal kidney disease. They decided not to return him to his colony and gave him palliative treatment to give him a better quality of life. He was thought to have just months to live and they wanted his twilight to be filled with love and. They soon found out that he adored kittens. He taught many little ones the art of being a cat, letting them comfort nurse on him, snuggling and bathing them, and giving the paw of nope when they were naughty. He died about 9 months ago after defying the initial prognosis for nearly 2 years |

My own dark torty has just been diagnosed with kidney problems. She too is 14 years old but I have no idea about the first four years of her life as she is a rescue cat. She has probably been the best cat I have ever had although the many others I`ve had during my years haven`t been far behind her! |
