Up north isn’t as great as they say it is, it’s cold wet and miserable. How’s your day?

Opened the door this morning to start the school run and it was a torrential downpour. I was one of those mothers that drove less than half a mile to take their kids to school. No shame.

You’re in Manchester, it’s supposed to be grim. The council spent a lot of time and money making it grim (so I believe)

The weather may not always be perfect, but I wouldn’t trade it for anywhere else in the country.

Living on the edge of the Yorkshire dales is perfect for me. Only a short drive or train ride to Leeds or Manchester, but minutes away from the peace and quiet.

Driving to work this morning three miles drove from Cheshire to lancs to yorks and back into lancs over the top of the moors fantastic views looking down into the mist filled valleys across the tops into Yorkshire and Derbyshire the across the whole on Manchester the Cheshire plain and into Wales. Watching the storm roll in followed by blue skys then more rain following .grim ? grim ? Fuckin beautiful and I get it for free everyday in it's full beautey and splendor. So what if it's a little cold wet and windy give me this over some overcrowded suburban hell hole anyday .

Big coat? Seems a bit overkill to me, temperature isn't in minus figures yet. If you start wearing your big coat now you'll not feel the benefit of it in January.

Maybe even long sleeve t-shirt, since we have had snow. Definitely flat cap and potentially whippet too, that'll keep you warm.

At least our water is soft, sweet a d plentiful. Not the calcium laced horridness from underground and recycled river water that leaves flotsam in the cup, yuk.

A cup of Tea down south is never the same as up here in the North, stong and flavoursome..
