Yeah unlike wrinkly tattoos I've literally zero interest in protecting my wirey old lady muff. In fact as I get older and can't see for maintenance I'd probably lazer more

I have had 3 sessions of laser hair removal on my public area.

It was painful but not unbearable.

It was very pricey, about £170 a session!

And ideally I would need another session to tidy up the small amount of hair that still grows.

If you can afford it, and are not adverse to a little pain, it's worth doing should you be 100% sure you never ever want to regrow your pubic hair at any point in the future.

I get less unsightly razor bumps and ingrown hairs now!

Thanks Bella, there's a fairly well reputed clinic offering 50% off in Dec which is bringing the price down to £80 per session... but then they're making you commit to 8 (cheeky buggers) hence my curiosity.

I'd bikini the front I think (for choice) but remove everything underneath and behind

I kinda do sometimes regret having gone for full removal everywhere, as if I have a partner who likes pubic hair, I am not able to grow it back to please him.

I've done it a few times but quite a long time ago. It's never got rid of everything although it lightened the load. It's seems to have come back in the decade or so since I've done it. Pain wasn't that bad.

Nowadays I just wax at home with a self waxing kit. But if I didn't wax I'd prefer laser to shaving (which always irritates my skin and leaves me with in growns!).

I was having mine done but had to stop when covid hit.

The operator wouldn’t go anywhere near my tattoo even if I painted it white.

It’s quite stingy but worth it.

Yeah I'm so over the skin bumps... I actually find waxing worse for that than shaving, but I like that a wax lasts longer and has absolutely no spike to the touch

I’ve virtually zapped/lasered my whole body because I hate the sight of hair on me (apart from my head) and I love feeling super smooth all the times .. like I can go against the grain and it feels smooth.

I done my legs, my bikini area, my ass… my armpits

It isn’t that bad.

The worst part are the boney areas, so like knees and anywhere else that has a bone. Either it’s painful or ticklish!

Overall I spent like £1400 in lasering as I keep topping up … I hate the fuckers!!!

You will be fine

At my consultation I was told I'd be the ideal candidate...pale skin and dark hair. Initially told would be all gone in 6 and have 2 extra. It hasn't worked as well as it should and had extra sessions given to me. Got to the point not sure if the discomfort of the new settings are worth the results.lot of money

There is a resident women’s health laser expert here who may answer but my understanding is the lasers used for vaginal tightening and reshaping are completely different to the ones used for hair removal but you are right to he concerned as the latter is completely unregulated and anyone can operate under similar licence as a hairdresser where the former needs a fully regulated and trained asthetic nurse or surgeon

Find out what laser machine they have, there’s different type of lasers and machine, some don’t work as well.

Especially IPL ones and some others are more suitable for certain type of skin etc

I did work wonders on me and am well happy with the results. I’m still going because i have some stubborn areas, but overall, I’d say I’m like 95% hair free and I could go 2 weeks without shaving and it’s like little hair here and there that you can not feel when u run ur hand and u can only see under a bright light

Maybe find out the laser x alexandrite laser seems to be the most effective for fair skin and dark hair

I’ve had a session of laser treatment…

No it doesn’t hurt. Far less than waxing

It’s dear. I had nine sessions at around £50 a go

It only works on dark hairs since it’s to do with light absorption. Since my pubes are/were light and thin it wasn’t all that effective. Watch out for that one if you’re not dark haired

So now I’m back to waxing but the dark hairs have gone and stayed away.

Hope this helps. If you need more please pm me

Andrew

I don't believe the home devices are lasers, hence my scepticism.

They are a form of laser called IPL. It’s like an intense pulse light, doesn’t reach as deep as the regular laser but reaches deep enough to weaken the hair and then it falls off.

It still feels like a rubber band hitting ur skin when it catches the hair as the light gets attracted by the contrast between skin and hair (hence why if u have red or blonde or grey hair it doesn’t work)

I purchased a Philips lumea and love it! They may be pricey but cost less in the long.

Laser hair removal works best on fair skin and dark hair... starting in the winter before you tan is a good idea.

Because hair grows in a cycle, I found a home device more convenient. I literally use it every time I shave, which now is every couple of weeks.

After using it a year I'm almost completely smooth where I want to be, just the odd soft hair its not painful, once you've got over the initial first zap it's fine.

I wouldn't advise using it over tattoos though accidentally zapped mine and gave myself a burn.

Overall, best thing I did... you don't get the prickly hair regrowth, ingrown hairs or razor rash
