Do they exist anywhere or are they just constructs?

People say life isn't fair.

I ask "why should it be?"

Also luck, is it not "just" reward for hard work or trying?

Had a few drinks and been reading a few threads.....

Well fairness is connected to ones moral compass, so that's subjective. Luck is more fundamental, and can be boiled down to having an event occur that you find desirable. If you subscribe to determinism then there's no luck; every single event that happens has happened because of a chain of events that happened before it. My brain hurts, and I don't know if that made any sense either
