Green, it’s what I grew up with when walkers were pretty much the only crisp game in town.
It angers me to the point of spontaneous combustion to see cheese and onion pretenders in a green packet. The Bastards! Making me think I’m picking up S&V when im inadvertently picking up C&O.

Blue, as they were originally. You use salt and vinegar for fish and chips, fish come from the sea, the sea is described as being blue.
Cheese and onion, both sources come from land, land is green, so the packets should be green.
I have literally no clue why their colours needed to be changed |

I love how all the comments say green then suddenly it switches to the following comments being blue 
Its blue damn it! Thats what they were originally and thats how it should be. Youre all raving loonies if you think salt and vinegar should be green (grrrr)

Must be cos i very distinctly remember picking up a blue packet of salt and vinegar walkers in a corner shop. I even remember being so confused when i suddenly saw that the colours had changed |

When I was a kid in the 80s & golden wonder dominated the crisp market before Pepsi bought out walkers:
Pale green was spring onion
Mid green was cheese & onion
Light blue was salt & vinegar
Dark blue was ready salted.
The yanks fucked it all up by changing the colours & introducing red for ready salted & swapping the other two over.

Neither in a footballing sense, but I'm used to Walkers colours now for crisps. Golden Wonder are rubbish now, apart from the occasional good packet of spring onion, so they've lost their right to dictate the colour scheme |

Salt and vinegar have traditionally been blue. This was before Walkers even had a foil package.

The Salt and Vinegar crisps in a blue packet which I buy say that they are specially manufactured for the chain I buy them from.
Wouldn't it be amusing if they turned out to be manufactured by whoever manufactures Walkers! |
