Logically you would think a Christmas movie should be one which captures what Christmas is all about. But it seems as long as the story is set during Christmas time or snow, it use to be on at Christmas when you were 9, it classed as a Christmas movie.

A few posts like this suggesting films that have no Christmas theme at all but are considered Christmas films because they’re always on TV at Christmas time. Personally I don’t consider them to be Christmas films because I never used to watch them at Christmas time so they have no relationship to Christmas for me but I can see why they would for someone who watched them every Christmas. We very rarely used to have the TV on at all on Christmas Day when I was growing up but one Christmas, for some reason, all the adults fell asleep so me and my siblings watched Toy Story, so now I always associate Toy Story with Christmas.

Muppet Christmas Carol. Interestingly, out of all the various adaptions it's the closest to the original text! Plus it's hilarious!

When I was a child, my parents would let me stay up and watch the Spaghetti Westerns during the Christmas holidays. The fire would be on and I would sit there watching them happy to be with my mom and dad at Christmas.

It is not a Christmas movie, but it is a Christmas memory
