Normally things in the news don't bother me. But I read the story about that young lad called Arthur and it has made me feel quite emotional. I've cried a couple of times when I think about it.

I never used to believe in the death penalty but for this lads parents. I would administer it myself. Knowing they will be out of prison at some point if they live to a normal life expectancy makes my blood boil.

"Maybe other prisoners will sort them out.."

I hope so. Maybe it would be best if it didn't happen straight away let them live in fear. They deserve absolute anguish like they should feel now.

Hearing the details on the radio broke me how he must have suffered, hearing the recording of him saying nobody loves me brought me to tears!

It's awful that he died in pain thinking no one loved him. I have cried for 2 days after hearing that. How could he have gone unoticed ? I hope that whatever afterlife there is, that he is feeling loved, that he is fed, that he is happy.

He mattered to everyone he read about it who has a heart. I can't put into words how it makes me feel.

I closed the article when that came up on the report. I couldn't hear anymore.

But how often is it going on? Wasn't there any grandparents or neighbours to intervene? Makes you wonder how some people live? Very very sad

From what i have read it was during the first lockdown so (possibly) no one else from the family saw what was happening.

The mind still boggles how anyone could harm what should be the most important thing in their life

It was said in various media reports that neighbours AND grandparents DID advise police and council officials, but their pleas were ignored!

The maternal grandmother raised concerns and took photos of bruises on the child. Social services visited and we're happy with the parents explanation that it was bruising from sibling play. Their report was that it appeared to be a happy family.

So more people should be arrested or sacked then !

Imagine how those who raised concerns are feeling. They have done their best but still must feel absolutely despair.
