It is. All celebrations of fictional characters should be banned.

Nope!

As with anything in life if you *think* it will offend someone unnecessarily then think long and hard about whether you need to say it. But as a basic principle going about everyday life, no

People have come here because they like the country and want to live here.

So why would we need to then change the way we do things, because our culture is part of the country they choose to come to.

Must be true though given the high grade references to the ‘story’.

Nope. It doesnt cause offence any more than my Jewish friends wishing me happy Hanukkah or my Muslim friends wishing me eid Mubarak.

I also don't take offence at someone wishing me happy holidays though, as there are many different holidays I could be celebrating at this time of year. It's all good, all meant with positive intention.

No. I'm happy to say Eid Mubarak, Happy Hanukkah or Diwali or any other. Why can't I have the same pleasure of hearing it or saying for that matter?

I say “I wish you a healthy and prosperous New Year”. It’s a bit cheesy I know, but I’m very much aware that not everyone likes New Year so I try not to say “Happy New Year ” in case they tell me to do one.
