Fairytale of New York is definitely our favourite.
We do like a lot of others though - including, Cashing In On Christmas b by Bad News (Rik Mayall, Adrian Edmondson, Nigel Planer, Peter Richardson & Alan Metcalf) |

Merry Christmas Everybody by Slade
Its the one song that made me excited for Christmas when i was a kid. Ever since then ive always had that little childlike joy knowing christmas is coming whenever i hear that song |

"I should add, my daughter was born just before Xmas, I remember holding her and singing along to The Power Of Love by Frankie Goes To Hollywood.
It’s been our song since then. "
That's so sweet must be so nostalgic listening that song now ![](/icons/rainbow.png) |

Christmas Wrapping by the Waitresses. I haven’t heard it this year yet!
I also like the Christmas albums by Nat King Cole and Phil Spector plus Bob Dylan’s Christmas album is an unexpected delight! |

"Fairytale of New York of course, but also I believe in Father Christmas, and I’m surprised no one has mentioned John Lennon, Merry Xmas (war is over)" Greg Lake one is fab! The production is brilliant. No one mentioned Wizzard! It's better then the slade one controversial. Hahaha

Christmas (Baby please come home)
Every version! It’s kinda an upbeat one and it’s my fave!!
Love lip sync to it
Babyyyy please come home!!!
Also Jingle bell rocks purely for the Mean Girls iconic dance scene |

"Fairytale of New York cracking song. But I always find it strange that it’s a Xmas song as it’s about a d*unken abusive husband who beats his wife "
Sadly maybe a reminder that xmas isn't the jolly time for some & they probably dread having an abusive partner at home rather than at work away from them. |

I'm unsure of the version I've heard over the years, but it's an old swing tune, " oh by gosh, by golly, it's time for mistletoe and Holly"... might be Frank Sinatra |

Like some Sinatra, Especially his early classic stuff with Nelson Riddle but Chet Baker is my favourite. ![](/icons/rainbow.png) |

"Without doubt, fairytale of new York
Agreed.
There's a version with Christy Moore doing it acoustically, on his own. It's on youtube; just stunning." Pogues one is better! He done a great cover of a Pink Floyd song, Well they are Irish so of course brilliant. ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

Diagonally Parked in a Parallel Universe |
I've just dug out my "We Wish You A Metal Xmas" CD.
The highlights for me are Run Rudolph Run, by Billy Gibbons, Dave Grohl and Lemmy, Santa Claws Is Coming To Town, by Alice Cooper, and this beautiful version of Silent Night - https://youtu.be/DoJxS4Fxr88 |
