Cinnamon...!

It's all about cinnamon and not a cinna-moan!

I love Cinnamon - but I don't get to enjoy it often enough, which heightens my appreciation for it.

This morning I enjoyed a Cinnamon Swirl from my friendly neighbourhood coffee shop. But what other food has cinnamon as its main ingredient? I want more sexy cinnamon. HELP...!

Add to any apple based desserts.

A stick inside your mulled wine.

Apple pairs really well with cinnamon - so apple strudel, apple and cinnamon cake etc.

You could also try cinnamon with various flavoured muffins - if you do a baked oats topping for crunch and sprinkle them with cinnamon you'll get that delicious warming flavour.

A cinnamon bundt cake is delicious, all soft squidy goodness.

Cinnamon pairs really well with pears as well. And pumpkin (like PSL).

Oooo and cinnamon with French toast, mascarpone and balsamic glazed strawberries.

On coffee, in cakes- especially festive baked goods

I put cinnamon in my porridge with sultanas, brown sugar on top so you get that little crispy bit with a spoonful of Greek yoghurt and honey drizzled on top.

I am assuming you have all tried sweet cinnamon, stumbled upon it recently and it’s a revelation in comparison to standard cinnamon.

Although it could have just me being stupid.

I have to share this story...

Camping with family and friends, communal cooking is the norm and one evening in a week its rice pudding rou d the campfire and breakfast the next day.

Loved by all, particularly the children.

This year after camp, my grandchildren came to stay fir a few days before heading home and rice pudding was requested again.

They all took a mouthful and grimaced saying it was awful, just not right and I was

Realising what I'd done, a liberal application of nutmeg and cinnamon and all was right with the world again

More cinnamon than chewing the bark.

Bear in mind you won't be able to taste anything else for 20 mins after eating them!

Here's another...

Blend butter, sugar and cinnamon, spread on a toasted bagel, toast until the sugar has crisped a bit and bubbly.

Let it cool down slightly and spread thickly with cold, cold cream cheese.

Tea loaves like Bara Brith are packed with cinnamon.

apple and sultana crumble is one I do very often.

True story.

The Doctor, asked my Mum, if she wanted any sleeping tablets.

No, she said I have my own solution.

A mug of warm milk.

A spoonful of Honey.

A pinch of Cinnamon.

Drink it before going to bed, and I sleep like a log.

Try it, it works.
