Anyone remember special birthdays when you went out for a special treat...
Prawn cocktail or melon and ham or orange juice (britvic of course)
Followed by steak chips and egg or chicken in a basket..
All washed down with blue nun or if it was really special black tower...? |

Yep! You were *meant* to let them thaw first before eating them. No chance! Much better frozen! |

My mother used to not eat all day in anticipation of a meal out, which was a rate treat. She used to look forward to the much desired shark's fin soup, which was considered exotic in her time. How much we have now learned about such foods. |

I remember asking to be taken out to dinner by my Mum and Dad when I was 12. My first time in a proper restaurant. I remember having melon for starter and icecream for dessert. No idea what I had for main. And lemonade to drink, imagining it was a glass of wine. A family friend crocheted me a white shawl to wear over my favourite purple dress. |
