I am so so excited. Its only a matter of weeks before Witcher season 2 is out.. I so enjoyed the first series. Also there's the lovely Henry Cavill clad in black leather.. I shall very binge watching... |

Whats with all the hype over the witcher series? I tried to watch it starting from the beginning 3 times, only managing to get a few episodes in each time, its just so boring
And why cast henry cavill as geralt? His acting was really dull |

No no and thrice no... Henry is a god amongst men .. although admittedly I had no idea it was him until about 3 episodes in.. I've watched the series several times and still like it a lot.. I guess it's just down to personal taste, personally I'd really like to taste Henry. |

No really he isnt a great actor, he can fit some roles, superman i guess, but beyond that he really isnt that good. Hell id probably say michael fassbender wouldve made a way better geralt.
I just dont understand why everyone wants to cast henry cavill as so many characters from video games simply cos hes a gamer himself and looks like a male super model  |

Ok so if you've read the books or played the games ( I haven't)then yes it's possible you'd have a better idea of the Witcher character, but as I didn't I took it on face value and really enjoyed it. Trying to persuade me otherwise is just a waste of everyone's time.
On the other hand Tom Cruise playing Jack Reacher ....sacrilege lol. |

I was talking about this with a chaotic friend last night!
I loved The Witcher and I'm excitedly counting down for Season 2 for personal reasons. Yes, it's not quite true to original text but if you take it as a standalone thing, it's brilliant. Yennefer is perfectly cast and you can empathize with her so much. The penultimate episode was heartbreaking, I adore the bard's songs and the dynamic between Geralt and Jaskier is so endearing. Moving in parts.
I can't wait! I'm also slightly ashamedly capable of objectifying Geralt. Who knew a white wig could look so good? |

I dont like reading books so im viewing it from the perspective of the game, which i also havent actually played, just watched it being played, so while cavill is doing his best to portray geralt as he is in the game, it stills comes out flat and dull. But i will say that playing geralt probably is not easy to begin with as his personality in the game is.. i dont know, very monotone and one dimensional as well
Just my opinion that cavill isnt a great actor but also geralt being a poorly written character, maybe its just my high standards regarding tv and games |
