Often wondered you go into people's house and they all have different smells, yet you can't smell your own house. Strange isn't it .

My cat always smells of next door when she has been in theirs.

Worthing

Yes I've had visitors and they smell of their own house. So make sure you keep it odour free! If I've been away for a while I can smell my home again.

We become habituated to things we're exposed to, so will have adjusted to our own smells etc.

Yes they do. If we've been out for a long time or on holiday and the place has been shut up I can smell ours. Until we redecorated and changed the carpets it smelled of the previous occupant.
