God yes.
I don't believe things are set in stone anyway, but imagine how pissed off you'd be if you were going to be knocked down by a bus in a month and you carried on going to work and paying bills and washing the windows at home and having renovations done right up to the last day, when you could be off living the high life! |

Right ?! It would be a privilege to know I think and dispose of remaining time more mindfully knowing the "deadline". |

If you found out the time and date it would instantly change to another time and date.
Your knowledge of the event would change the pattern leading up to your death as you would probably deviate your normal actions leading to your death.
Better off not knowing..

"You're given an envelope with the time and date of your death written in it.
Do you open it? "
100% yes. Then make sure I plan and party appropriately around it, make sure everything is in order, everything I want to say is said, everything I want to do is done and I die with no regrets.
My only wish is to die quickly and painlessly! |

Exactly
If you knew the date you were going to die you would have to live your life moment to moment exactly how it is supposed to go untill your time of death on that specific day. Which is impossible because you don't know the sequence of events in the months and year's that will lead up to your death. So if you did find out the date, it would most likely not happen on that day

I was thinking more lazing in bed until noon and wasting all my money on booze and ferrero rocher instead of rent and water rates, but yes, I can pretend to be a grown up and say I'd be all mindful and try to live my remaining time with purpose |

I think I'd want to know - to determine if I need to work my arse off for the long term, or just have a hedonistic outlook.
Imagine if, Sliding Doors style, something changed to affect the outcome of that date, maybe from your behaviour, now with that knowledge
... then what?!!

The only certainty about your life is that it will end. |

Ah but everything that would happen to you would be leading to that end. Even if you thought you were being clever by changing your present, that would already have been figured out, so everything would be going exactly to plan, for it to still happen that day. Probably |

Nope! I'd immediately burn it, or destroy it some other way where the information can't be retrieved.
While there's the chance I'd be happy with the results, the risk of it being something horrible and causing untold stress would be too much for me. |
