I mean, not too sound too smartarse, but this isn't a photography site either. If you want a photographer maybe try going to a dedicated site for, well, photographers?
Modelmayhem would be my suggestion as I've used it but also heard purpleport as a suggestion. |

He’s spot on! I’m a photographer. When I needed an account, solicitor or Doctor funnily enough fab wasn’t my go to option. What’s the difference?"
I must have missed the post were people were looking for an accountant solicitor or doctor! |

I think the point being made is that professional photographers are professionals in the same way that accountants, solicitors etc are.
This is not me being shady, just trying to pour oil on troubled waters x |

Tada!"
I get the point my point is you could apply that logic to a lot of the post on here eg people looking for a massage or looking for a recommendation for a bar these are all things people can google but there asked on here because here supposed to be like minded people who can give recommendations I thought but maybe I’m wrong! |

Plenty on here.....asked here before for models.
Soon as you do "what equipment have you got?" Then you explain methodically what you have and they are utterly clueless. Or "let me see you portfolio" and you do and they go all quiet because there aren't any holes in your story.
Because of all the bellends I've given up offering/advertising my services on here. |

"Your right and I shouldn’t let him get to me but I just can’t agree with what he’s saying and if he’s going to be rude he should expect it back "
The chap you are referring to made perfect sense and certainly wasn't rude. The reaction he got to his sensible suggestion was I'd say a little rude and defaming with reference to any comment he's contributed to other threads. |

I'm a pro and rarely offer my services on here. The main problem is money. If there's no gain for me from the images, I would want to be paid. I've heard a lot of "just bring your camera along" like my 20 years experience and 5 years of education mean nothing. You also have to take into consideration editing and how much time this takes. I've also heard disputes about ownership. This is silly as photographers always own their work. I am particularly careful with this and always have my release forms for model's to sign. At the end of the day, if you don't want your images used elsewhere, you shouldn't be in front of the camera.
However, if I know the model or models I could be persuaded... again though, it would have to spark my interest. Why most want to play as well because otherwise
there's very little benefit. I like the idea of doing a larry sultan style doc project on life in a swing club but yet to put anything in motion.
One of the other issues is that anyone with an slr thinks they're a pro. Seen this so many times where hobbieists advertise themselves as togs just because they have a camera. I do agree with what others say though and if you want a pro this might not be the best place to look. As with everything in life: You pay peanuts and you get monkeys |

I get that but again if your message is directed at me. Where have I said that I wouldn’t pay? Why does everyone presume everything? |

Was the last part directed at me?
Think you're biting a little bit too easily. I wasn't talking to you specifically and I haven't presumed anything. I think a good thing to remember is debating opinion is a never ending task. |

Okay, so where was the rudeness? You’re the one who accused another contributor of being a smart arse just for providing a perfectly reasonable and polite response.
The argument here would appear to be around the use of the word “professional”. It would be interesting to hear the OPs definition and understanding of “professional”.
While it’s dangerous to assume, my assumption is the OP was after someone with a degree of competence who would take good photos of them with perhaps an opportunity to play as reward?
For the sake of argument, that is not a professional arrangement. If people wouldn’t expect a Doctor, Accountant or Solicitor to provide professional services for payment in kind, why should a professional photographer be any different?
It would appear the rudeness was denigrating professional photographers. |

"getting harder to find on fab who can also accommodate..."
A pro photographer would not "accommodate". Anyone who does offer that isn't genuine. Perhaps you're looking for a keen amateur? |

I didn't think my comment would generate so much comment.
If your struggling to find a professional to provide a professional service on fab my advice would always be to find a website that is dedicated to that professional service. It's not rocket science.
